The first big event of the afternoon in France is the Group Two Prix de Mallert over 1m4f and Baiykara for Francis-Henri Graffard should take some beating.

The three year old filly has been seen three times to date making her debut in April at Longchamp over 10.5f and finishing a fair third she then improved at Chantilly to finish a closer second in a decent Maiden.

Moved up in trip to 12f for the first time it unlocked huge progression landing a Group Three event by four lengths and if in the same form could be tough to beat handling the trip and the ground.

The feature event of the afternoon in Paris on Thursday is the Group One Grand Prix de Paris and we are siding with the Roger Varian trained Eldar Eldarov to make it 4/4.

Making his debut as a two year old over 8.5f at Nottingham he went on to beat Janoobi by five lengths and looked a very impressive talent.

Seen again for the first time this season he went on to make it 2/2 when landing a very good Novice Stakes at Newcastle over 10f with the likes of Post Impressionist and Honiton in behind him and both franking the form.

Sent markedly up in trip at Royal Ascot last time out in the Group Two Queen's Vase over 1m6f, the colt needed every yard of the race to get up and proving he is a strong stayer makes him very interesting at 1m4f at Longchamp.

Looking to make it 4/4 and has a leading chance to do so.

Tom Marquand

Quickthorn

The final event of the afternoon in France we have a selection in is the Prix Maurice de Nieuil over 1m6f and the Hughie Morrison trained Quickthorn looks the one to beat.

A Royal Ascot winner over 1m4f on heavy ground last year, he started to make a name for himself, then finishing a good second in the Ebor Handicap York, but rounding off the season with two poor efforts in better company.

Back this term and looking to make the step up in trip to these sorts of races, he made a fair debut when three lengths behind Trueshan at Nottingham in a Listed event over 1m6f.

Up to two miles next time out he was a narrow second in the Group Three Sagaro Stakes at Ascot behind Princess Zoe, beating Enemy by a neck.

Taking on a similar field last time out at Sandown over two miles again in the Group Three Henry II Stakes he got back to winning ways in decisive fashion under a superb front running ride by Tom Marquand.

Down to 1m6f is no problem and with Marquand in the saddle once more he should go well having form on both good and soft ground.
