Hope Is High

Hope Is High produced one of the standout performances of last season when winning over this course August of last year, when coming from last to first under champion jockey Silvestre de Sousa.

That was leg two of a hat trick of wins last season, and hasn’t won since landing the three-time at Yarmouth. This mare has gone close at both Catterick and Yarmouth recently, and with Nicola Currie taking off 3lb, should be in the frame to return t winning ways.

4:15 Goffs Vincent O’Brien National Stakes (Group One)

Anthony Van Dyck

The Curragh features some mouth-watering racing on Sunday, with the G2 Blandford Stakes and the G1 Flying Five Stakes, not forgetting the Irish St Leger. But, the best clash of the day is the Group 1 Goffs Vincent O’Brien National Stakes, and a battle of two of the best 2yo’s in Britain and Ireland.

Aiden O’Brien sends next season’s current second favourite in the Derby ANTHONY VAN DYCK to post, who won ever so impressively last time out over this course and distance when beating stablemate and rival here again, Christmas.

He faces Charlie Appleby’s unbeaten Quorto, who has won both starts at Newmarket. This is really one to sit back and enjoy, but O’Brien’s colt looks to have a narrow edge on paper.

Jedhi

Hughie Morrison trained Jedhi looks the one to follow on Sunday at Ffos Las. He bolted up at Kempton last time out, where he won readily to Penny Poet. He now needs to switch that ability for his first outing on the turf, but he might have a bit of star class about him.

Usually held up and delivered late, Robert Havlin is doing the steering once more, and is surely his best chance of a winner on Sunday.
