Gulfstream - 17.40 - Shananies Paynter NAP

Joseph Orseno’s 4-y-o caught the eye when finishing well from a poor position at this track in January and he looks capable of making amends in this lesser-event.

The son of Paynter took a step forward from his first start at Gulfstream therefore further progression can be expected and connections have booked top jockey Irad Ortiz, who will be more than happy with their draw in stall 2.

Gulfstream - 18:08 - Tami’s Orchid NB

Mareenlovesfrank looks a big danger for Irad and Brad Cox but Tami’s Orchid was a huge eye-catcher here the last time and Barclay Tagg’s horses have to be feared at this track (25% S/R - 12 months).

The 3-y-o filly made a huge move on the bend which saw her fly past five horses to finish second. The winner had already sailed under an enterprising ride but she had plenty of running left.

She was drawn in 10 that day and she now breaks out of stall 2 which should give her a nice position to aim from on the home turn.
