Saturday's Ante Post Haydock Each Way Four Fold

13:50 Haydock - Saturday - Cliffs Of Dover 9/1

The first horse in our Each Way four fold for Saturday's racing at Haydock starts in the Class 2 Betfair Best Odds On ITV Races Handicap Hurdle over 2 mile 3 furlongs and we have selected the Paul Nicholls trained Cliffs Of Dover.

This five year old as a juvenile hurdler was a really smart prospect taking some nice races including Listed Succes and a Grade2 contest in the bet365 Summer Juvenile Hurdle.

Since then he has gone on to the flat and has picked up some minor success in Class 4 and 5 races but when stepped up in Class he was less competitive, including a disappointing run in the Cesarewitch Handicap at Newmarket.

Getting back over hurdles on Saturday can see him flourish again. He won't mind if the ground is quick and will certainly stay the distance, also the Nicholls yard is in flying form.

14:25 Haydock - Saturday - Captain Cattistock 10/1

The next selection comes in the Grade 3 Betfair Exchange Stayers' Handicap Hurdle over 3 miles and in this Class 1 we have gone with another recruit from the Paul Nicholls yard in Captain Cattistock.

This five year old is a very unexposed horse for his age and has only raced eight times in his career and last season shaped towards the end of the campaign that he could turn in to a really smart youngster.

He had his seasonal reappearance at Chepstow last month and finished a modest sixth out of 13 runners in a Grade 3 but will be much bette on Saturday for that run and can be competitive against other horses that have yet to have a run this season.

15:00 Haydock - Saturday - Native River 3/1

The feature race of the day in Britain is the Grade 1 Betfair Chase over 3 mile 1 1/2 furlongs and we have selected last seasons Cheltenham Gold Cup winner to take the spoils on his seasonal return.

Native River was last season one of the stand out staying horses of the year and in the run up to taking last years Gold Cup he had only had one run previous which made the victory even more remarkable.

The ground does need to have the word soft in its description for this horse to have any chance of running and it will be a tough task in a highly competitive race against his rival of last season with Might Bite whilst also taking on his stablemate and 2016 King George winner Thistecrack.

This race is the start of the Triple Crown for jumps horses so everyone will be putting in there best efforts to go on and land this race and trainer Colin Tizzard has Native River as his best chance on the day.

15:35 Haydock - Saturday - Captain Redbeard 8/1

The final horse of the Each Way four fold at Haydock on Saturday comes in the Class 2 Better Value On The Betfair Exchange Handicap Chase over 3 miles 1 1/2 furlongs and we have selected Captain Redbeard for trainer Stuart Coltherd.

This nine year old last season put in some really nice performances in Class 1 and 2 races with his best performance coming at Haydock over course and distance in the Grade 2 Peter Marsh Handicap Chase.

This season he made his return at Carlisle in a Class 2 handicap where he finished a good third and will be much better for that run with some horses having there seasonal debut and may be not be as wise to the conditions as Captain Redbeard is.
