Sandown Saturday Preview - 15/06/19

14:05 - Leodis Dream

The first race of the afternoon at Sandown on Saturday sees the Listed Scurry Stakes over five furlongs and in this hot sprint contest we have gone for the consistent Leodis Dream.

This three year old gelding is set to have Oisin Murphy on board which is always a dream but this David O'Meara trained gelding before his last run could not stop winning.

Before missing the break in a big fielded sprint contest at York he had won five in a row and if handling the soft conditions he could get back to winning ways.

14:35 - Fantasy Keeper

The Class 4 randox.com Handicap is next on the agenda and in this contest over five furlongs again, we have gone for the Michael Appleby trained Fantasy Keeper.

This top weighted five year old looks to be heading into this race in some nice form finishing a good second last time out at Goodwood on softish ground.

He is dropping down in trip which he has done before and ran to a good standard and it looks like this lightly raced horse will handle the conditions better than most of the field.

15:15 - Hateya

Hateya is our next selection and it comes in the Class 2 Randox Health Handicap over one mile where we think the Jim Boyle trained runner has a great chance.

This season the four year old filly has been in consistent form with a good seasonal reappearance third and two good seconds to back that up.

His latest run is the one that catches the eye when just being pipped in a photo finish on the Friday of the Derby festival and it looks as if this step up in trip will more than suit.

15:50 - Karnavaal

Next up is the Class 3 Handicap over seven furlongs and in this tricky field of runners we have stuck with the Sir Michael Stoute trained Karnavaal.

This three year old has shown plenty of ability on both his starts this season in tough races and now being more settled has every chance of getting off the mark.

He has ran twice in big fielded events and now in a smaller field we think he can flourish for top connections and top trainer, one to watch at a nice price.

16:25 - New King

The John Gosden trained New King is our next selection in the Class 3 Handicap and this colt owned by Qatar Racing has a live chance if coming on for his last run.

The three year old has only been sent out twice this year finishing fourth third on his seasonal debut on the all weather but was much better last time out at Sandown.

He finished a strong fourth in a tough race with his stablemate Private Secretary going on to land the spoils that day. This field does not look as strong and that makes him a player.

17:35 - Oi The Clubb Oi's

The final selection of the afternoon from Sandown is the 1 mile 6 furlong Class 4 Handicap and we have gone for the Ian Williams trained Oi The Clubb Oi's to land the spoils.

This four year old got back to winning ways in good style last time out at Nottingham under a solid ride from Jim Crowley who is on board again at the weekend.

The soft ground shouldn't be an issue as he has raced t a fair standard in those conditions before and he is still on a very handy mark.
