Salisbury Sunday Preview - 16/06/19

13:55 - Stallone

The first race of the day at Salisbury comes in the Class 6 Handicap over six furlongs and we have gone for the top weighted Stallone.

This Richard Spencer trained three year old won nicely in heavy conditions on Thursday and off the back is one to consdier with the ground still on the soft side.

This was his first win after six chances and he has a big chance under a penalty.

15:05 - Tatweej

The next selection on the Sunday card sees the Fillies Novice Stakes and in this Class 4 we have gone with the Owen Burrows trained Tatweej.

This three year old filly is one of two runners for her trainer but she has already had a run compared to her stablemate and some of the rest of the field.

She finished a modest fourth at Newmarket over a mile and stepping up in trip today should see her come on for that run, Kieran Shoemark rides.

15:35 - Forbidden Land

One of the better races on the card is the Class 2 Novice Stakes over six furlongs and we have sided with the Richard Hannon trained Forbidden Land.

This two year old looks a very promising recruit for the Hannon yard after finishing a good second on his debut and this colts brother has proven form on soft which looks good for Sunday.

That second came at York behind a smart newcomer from the Varian yard in Repartee and if coming on for that run could dominate this field from start to finish.

16:10 - Emaraaty Ana

The best race of the day is the Listed Cathedral Stakes over six furlongs and in this hot contest we have gone for the Kevin Ryan trained Emaraaty Ana.

This three year old was a Group 2 winner as juvenile last season at York in the Gimcrack Stakes and that form really does set him head and shoulders above this field.

This season he has not been at his best but in Group 1 company finishing near the back of the field in the 2000 Guineas and pretty much the same in the Irish 2000 Guineas.

However, this is a lot more realistic and if anywhere need his best he should go on and win this contest.

16:45 - Dashed

The penultimate race of the Sunday card at Salisbury is the Class 5 Fillies Handicap over seven furlongs and the horse we fancy is the Roger Varian trained Dashed.

This three year old looks a bright prospect for the yard and she handles soft ground which will be a bonus for this race on the weekend.

There has been plenty to like about her three performances this season getting better with each run and her latest second sets the form standard in this race.

17:20 - Maygold

The final contest of the day is the Paul Williamson Memorial Handicap and in this Class 4 over five furlongs we have selected Maygold to land the spoils.

This Ed Walker trained four year old looks to be a really nice filly who has a live chance in this race off the back of two smart performances this season.

Oisin Murphy takes the ride which always helps but her second on soft ground two starts ago is what really makes this filly appealing and anything resembling that performance will see her go close.
