The Group Three Prix du Petit Couvert over five furlongs sees a fair field of horses heading to post and the stand out runner for us is Wooded for Francis-Henri Graffard.

The three year old has show some smart form in better races than this contest this term and if handling the drop to five furlongs should be in the mix.

On his seasonal debut he landed a six furlong Group Three at Chantilly and since then he has been put into Group One events finishing behind Pinatubo and Space Blues in the Jean Prat and Maurice De Gheest.

One to watch at five furlongs.

The feature race of the day at ParisLongchamp is the Group One Grand Prix de Paris over 1 mile 4 furlongs and the big priced Highland Chief can out run his odds.

The three year old son of Gleneagles has really moved his career along this term having shown glimpses of ability as a juvenile, but this season stepping up in the big races.

On his seasonal debut at Ascot he got off the mark for the first time in his career winning the Golden Gates Handicap at Royal Ascot.

Off the back of that he was sent into the Derby and like many horses ran no sort of race and a line can be drawn through that run.

He bounced back to form at York last time out when a good second behind Pyledriver in the Great Voltigeur and we believe he will come on again for that run.

Another cracker on the card is the Group One Prix Vermeille and this contest looks to be a one horse race for us with the favourite Raabihah a superstar in the making.

The three year old filly started her career this term for Jean-Claude Rouget and she got off the mark at the first time of asking in a maiden.

She backed that up over 1m3f at Longchamp when taking a Listed race and then stepped up to the Group One Prix de Diane where she was a close fourth behind Irish stars.

Those three runners have gone on to frank the form since and so has this filly when getting back to winning ways in a Group Three at Deauville.

She is odds against but should take the world of beating.

Some familiar faces feature in the Group Two Prix Foy over 1m4f and although Stradivarius will be the eye-catcher, we believe Anthony Van Dyck is the one to follow.

The Aidan O'Brien trained colt landed the Epsom Derby last year and although has not won since that race has ran well in defeat in the majority of his races.

The four year old started the season in the Group One Coronation Cup finishing behind Ghaiyyath and subsequently seeing off John Gosden's stayer.

He has since finished fifth in a competitive Hardwicke Stakes, hating the soft ground and with the conditions drying in Paris he should have his prime surface to go well.

The final selection on the day from us in France comes in the Group Three Prix du Pin over seven furlongs and Earthlight for Andre Fabre is the one to beat.

The Godolphin owned colt has won six of his seven events to date including the Group One Prix Morny and Middle Park Stakes at Newmarket, only losing his unbeaten record last time out in the Prix Maurice De Gheest.

He made his seasonal reappearance this term in the Listed Prix Kistena and picked up from where he left off last season, but now his handler is looking at stepping him up from six furlongs to seven.

He holds plenty of ability and back down in a Group Three, if getting the trip should not be beat.
