The first race on the card in Paris on Sunday is the Group One Prix Jean-Luc Lagadere over seven furlongs and the Clive Cox trained Nando Parrado has a huge chance to land black type glory.

The juvenile made a huge name for himself this term when he pulled off one of the biggest shocks in Royal Ascot history when landing the Group Two Coventry Stakes at the biggest odds ever seen by a winner at the five day festival.

The son of Kodiac proved that his Ascot run was not a fluke when a good second behind Queen Mary Stakes winner Campanelle in the Prix Morny in testing conditions last time out.

Getting similar conditions today he should be in the mix and having done his best work in the final furlong he will be sure to get the extra furlong.

The Prix Marcel Boussac at ParisLongchamp is always a quality affair and Fev Rover for Richard Fahey has been primed for this event.

The filly has been a shining light for the yard racing four times so far this term and not finishing outside the top two on all of her runs, including winning her last two events.

Having finished behind the Likeable Method at Doncaster and then second behind the Group Two winning Dandalla, the juvenile has backed those runs up with two wins at Sandown in Listed company and Deauville in the Group Two Prix du Calvados.

That came on very soft ground and with the rain continuing to fall in France she should revel in the conditions again on Sunday.

Arguably the biggest middle distance race of the season is the Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe at ParisLonchamp, with all horses gearing their seasons towards this race.

Enable is the headline entry with the six year old looking for her third win in the race after being narrowly defeated in her third consecutive bid by Waldgeist.

The six year old this season has been as consistent as ever, starting her campaign in the Coral Eclipse just being denied by the Godolphin star Ghaiyyath but it acted as a perfect prep run for the Group One King George VI and Queen Elizabeth Stakes, which she landed for the third time in her career.

She headed to Kempton last time out where she was a strong winner of the Group Three September Stakes and she used that contest as a prep race when landing her second Arc in 2018.

The mare will be taking on arguably her toughest field to date, but in what could be her last time ever on a racecourse the racing world will be cheering her on and if running to form will be tough to beat even on soft, slow ground.

The French runners have always had a big say in this race on home soil and from an each way perspective at 14/1, In Swoop for Francis-Henri Graffard can outrun his odds.

The three year old colt has been seen four times during his career starting in May at Lyon-Parilly when getting off the mark on debut and then backing that up over the same course and distance when third of eight runners in a Group Two.

He went over to Germany in July where the colt got back to winning ways, this time in Hamburg in the Group One German Derby, landing his first black type event.

After landing that event, he tried his hand at the Grand Prix de Paris over the Arc course and distance and he finished a solid second behind Mogul, staying on the best of the rest.

Although needing to reverse the form with Mogul, that run came on good ground and he is a soft ground specialist and he will be getting his perfect conditions to run a huge race on Sunday.

The Group One Prix de l'Opera sees a star studded line up of fillies heading to post and Alpine Star for Jessica Harrington looks an interesting runner at 4/1

The filly has been a breath of fresh air for the yard this term making her seasonal debut at Royal Ascot in the Group One Coronation Stakes and beat a decent field comfortably.

Off the back of that she was a narrow second to Fancy Blue in the French Oaks and that form looks extremely strong with Donnacha O'Brien's filly since going on to land the Group One Nassau Stakes.

Alpine Star also franked that Prix de Diane form running a stormer behind the unbeaten Palace Pier in heavy conditions and that looks some of the best form on offer.

The sprinters step up next for the Group One Prix de l'Abbaye and we are sticking with last year's winner Glass Slippers to land back to back renewals.

The Kevin Ryan trained filly has some stand out form throughout her career and if recapturing it should not be beat in this event.

Having won the Group One Prix de l'Abbaye last season, she finished fifth at Royal Ascot in the King's Stands Stakes and improved for that run last time out when a good second behind Battaash at Goodwood.

She will be getting her soft conditions and heading here off the back of superb win in the Group One Flying Five Stakes she is the standout chance in the race

The final Group One of the afternoon is the seven furlong Prix de la Foret and the favourite Earthlight has the leading claims.

The Godolphin owned colt has won seven of his eight events to date including the Group One Prix Morny and Middle Park Stakes at Newmarket, only losing his unbeaten record last time out in the Prix Maurice De Gheest.

He made his seasonal reappearance this term in the Listed Prix Kistena and picked up from where he left off last season, but after the horses first defeat his handler thought a step up in trip was needed.

He went up to seven furlongs for the Group Three Prix du Pin and he got back to his best looking like a black type colt in lesser company and handling heavy ground better than most horses should see him thrive in this event.
