The first event of the afternoon on Thursday is the Maiden Stakes over seven furlongs and Out From Under for the Harry & Roger Charlton team looks to have leading credentials.

The three year old colt has been three times to date, finishing fifth of 13 on debut at Sandown on heavy ground and off the back of that has finished second twice to good effect.

A smart son of Dubawi he got better ground at Ffos Las and was first past the post but was demoted in the stewards room.

He then went to Redcar in September and was a nose second to a nice type for William Haggas, being well clear of the rest.

Out From Under holds some of the best from in the race and if training on this term has a big chance to break his duck.

The next race we have a selection in is the seven furlong Conditions Stakes with Audience for John Gosden a very classy horse and the most likely winner if not needing the run.

The son of Iffraaj has been seen once to date racing in October over the same course and distance as this contest and he went on to win impressively.

He managed to see off the likeable Yantarni for Godolphin and Charlie Appleby and if fully wound up for this event should take all the beating.

One to follow this season.

In the Class 2 Memorial Handicap we are siding with the Andrew Balding trained Carolus Magnus, who has a big chance in this event, looking like he has not quite reached the ceiling of his potential yet.

The son of Holy Roman Emperor has shown some decent form in his six races to date making his debut in March last year when third at Doncaster in a smart Novice Stakes.

He got off the mark next time out beating a nice type for Charlie Appleby in Magical Land and then on his all weather debut bumped into Just Beautiful, who went on to win a Group Three event.

Having a blip at Lingfield during the Racing League, he then got back on track at Sandown with a strong third behind the talented Kettle Hill.

Carolus Magnus rounded off last season by winning over a mile at Newmarket on rapid ground and off only 5lb higher over the same C&D, he looks the value.

The feature event on the final day of the Craven meeting is the Listed Feilden Stakes over 1m1f and Masekela for Andrew Balding could take some beating.

Masekela has always been a smart horse for the yard and it is now time to see whether he can stay this 9f trip having showed plenty of pace during his career.

Making his debut in May last year he won at Goodwood on debut over 6f and then went to Royal Ascot where he finished fifth in a superb renewal of the Listed Chesham Stakes.

He boosted that form when a short head second to the champion two year old Native Trail in the G2 Superlative Stakes and then off the back of that won the Listed Denford Stakes.

Finishing last season in the Group Two Royal Lodge Stakes over a mile he was fourth behind the likes of Royal Patronage and Coroebus, which is strong form.

Up a further furlong for this he does have stamina doubts, but is by far the best horse in the race.

The penultimate selection of the afternoon comes in the Class 2 Handicap over seven furlongs and Able Kane looks to be the value for us.

A talented five year old for who hit some decent form towards the end of last year, winning at Doncaster over 6.5f and then backing that up at Ascot in October when fourth to the plot job Sunray Major.

Off a mark of 89 when last seen in October at Leicester he won nicely over seven furlongs and only 4lb higher for this event, he could go well.

Yazaman

J: Marco Ghiani
T: Robert Cowell
N/A
Age: 4
Weight: 8-9
OR: 83
Days: 29

The final event of the afternoon on the Rowley Mile is the Class 3 Handicap over five furlongs and we have picked out one at a big price.

Yazaman for Robert Cowell was a nice horse for William Haggas earlier in his career, finishing second in the Listed Windsor Castle Stakes a Royal Ascot, G2 July Stakes and G2 Richmond Stakes at Glorious Goodwood.

Never really fulfilling his potential as three year old, at the back end of last term he was sold to Tje Racing and given to trainer Robert Cowell.

He has been seen three times for the handler who goes well with his sprinters and he has looked to need the run on all three occasions.

The four year old is now down to a career low mark of 83, having previously been as high as 106 and with the trainer landing the race last year with Arecibo who was fairly new to the yard at the time of racing aswell, it looks as though the trainer has previous doing this.

At 18/1 he looks big each way value.
