The first selection on the final day of the Cambridgeshire meeting comes in the prestigious Group Two Royal Lodge Stakes that over the years has thrown out some superb winners.

2000 Guineas winner Coroebus won the event last year before landing the Classic and we think stablemate Flying Honours can go on and do a similar thing.

Making his debut in July at Newmarket over 7f, he was fourth in a decent maiden learning a lot for the experience as next time out he got off the mark in emphatic fashion at Sandown, going clear by nearly 10 lengths.

Stepped up to a mile next time out at Salisbury, also stepping up into Listed company, he made a mockery of the field again.

The form of that event has been franked in a big way with the second Stormbuster for Andrew balding since winning a good conditions stakes at Newbury by five lengths.

Very progressive type that should be tough to beat on form.

The first Group One event of the afternoon is the Juddmonte Cheveley Park Stakes over 6f and Meditate for Aidan O'Brien has done very little wrong this season.

Making her career debut at the Curragh over 5f she was a winner straight away showing bundles of pace. She then made it back to back wins at Naas when upped to 6f, revelling in the extra furlong.

Sent into the Group Three Albany Stakes at Royal Ascot on just her third start she again improved to see off the talented Mawj in fine style.

Looking to make it 4/4 she went back to the Curragh up in trip again to 7f, she went on to beat Olivia Maralda to take the Group Two Debutante Stakes.

Seen once more in her career, on soft ground for the first time in the Group One Moyglare Stud Stakes, her and the Dermot Weld trained Tahiyra, who looks a freak, went clear and she suffered the first loss of her career back in second.

There is no harm in that run and they were clear of the rest of the runners by a wide margin and now back in trip to her preferred 6f, she has a big chance to get back on track.

The second Group One of the afternoon is the Middle Park Stakes over 6f for the colts and Marshman for Karl Burke holds the best form in the race.

The two year old has been seen three times in his career to date, making his debut at Ayr over 6f when winning nicely in a Maiden Stakes.

He was then sent to Thirsk and gave the performance of his career when landing a Novice Stakes by close to nine lengths.

Up in class for his latest run he ran a cracker to finish second behind the smart Noble Style at York in the Group Two Gimcrack Stakes and if improving again, which he will need to, that form could be the best on offer.

Age: 5
Weight: 8-13
OR: 97
Days: 35

The feature race of the entire weekend is the Cambridgeshire Handicap and with a huge field heading to post we have picked out two each way selections.

The first is Protagonist, who was a fair horse in Ireland over much further for Jessica Harrington, the five year old this term now with the master William Haggas looks a different animal.

Making his seasonal debut at Sandown over 10f he was a good fourth of 15 in a tough handicap maybe needing the run, but next time out got off the mark for the season at Doncaster beating market rival on Saturday Savvy Victory giving him 3lb.

Up 1lb for that to a mark of 90 he made it back to back wins this time at Sandown when beating another market rival in Dual Identity, again giving weight away.

Up 7lb for that to a mark of 97 it allows him to race in this event and looking highly progressive this season he could still be weighted to go close.

Interesting each way player.

Saffie Osborne

T: Jamie Osborne
Age: 6
Weight: 8-9
OR: 93
Days: 37

At a much bigger price at around the 40/1 mark is the Jamie Osbourne trained Ouzo who has solid place claims with some firms offering up to seven places.

Ouzo is a seasoned professional in these types of events and off the back of his last three runs at a mile, now down to a lower mark he could play a hand.

Running in the Whitsun Cup at Sandown on his seasonal debut he went on to finish a neck second behind Rebel Territory.

Running no race at Royal Ascot in the Buckingham Palace Stakes, he bounced back to form in the Coral Challenge at the start of July and was a superb third behind the talented Sinjaari and Checkandchallenge.

Sent to Glorious Goodwood in the Golden Mile Handicap he was a close up fourth of 18 and then last time out hit the frame again at York's Ebor meeting when fifth of 18 in the Clipper Logistics Handicap.

He is down 2lb from that run to a mark of 93 and if handling the extra furlong he looks to be a big place contender at 40/1.

Ray Dawson

Mystic Pearl

J: Ray Dawson
T: William Haggas
Age: 2
Weight: 8-5
OR: 76
Days: 21

The penultimate selection of the afternoon comes in the Fillies' Nursery Handicap over seven furlongs and Mystic Pearl for William Haggas.

Making her debut in a decent maiden on the July Course when sixth, she then went to Newbury and found a few too good again back in fourth.

Learning plenty for both of those experiences she then went to Thirsk in a Novice Stakes and got off the mark for her career when beating a nice type in Runaholic for George Scott.

Making her handicap debut today off 85 could be very lenient and she looks an exciting type.

Andrea Atzeni

T: Roger Varian
Age: 3
Weight: 8-8
OR: 88
Days: 16

The final event of the afternoon is the Class 2 Turners Handicap over 7f and we are giving Zainalarab a chance to get back to winning ways.

Having needed his debut in May when last of sixth at Salisbury, the son of Wootton Bassett then went on to land a hat-trick of wins at Salisbury, Chester and Sandown, with his final win coming on handicap debut.

Up to a mark of 88 last time out at Doncaster he got beat by some good horses and if getting back to his earlier form, he is weighted to go close in this one.

Trainer and jockey in serious form.
