All four of these demand respect for yards capable of readying a newcomer but this son of Twilight Son is bred to be speedy and he may just prove hard to catch on his first start.

Richard Fahey has his string in good nick and Paul Hanagan is booked to ride.

Marshal Dan will be fitter than most having had a spin on the AW in December and his sole effort over C&D resulted in a 1 1/2 length victory off a mark of 84.

He is 4lb higher this time around but he has justified that rating and he has some useful early season form.

Just seven line up for the Royal Mile Handicap and it is Mark Johnston’s Forest Falcon who earns our selection.

This son of Raven’s Pass finished midfield in one of the hottest maidens of the season at Sandown before bolting up by 10l at Yarmouth and he rates the type to continue improving with age.

He has plenty of stamina in his pedigree therefore Franny Norton will be looking to make this a good test.

Caspian Prince is likely to produce plenty of early speed down the middle but the sprint track here favours a wide draw and our selection is birthed in stall 12.

This 4-y-o is unexposed compared to most of these and he boasts some very useful form including a fourth in the Round Tower Stakes.

He was given a nice prep for this on debut for the yard where they kept him wide throughout and that fitness boost will give him an advantage.

Mark Johnston as a typically strong hand in the Queen’s Cup and we like two of his chances in Trumpet Man and Themaxwecan.

Trumpet Man’s pedigree suggests he will continue to improve this season and his previous form is already strong enough to get competitive off 97.

He is the stable’s number one on jockey bookings and he will enjoy the drying ground.

Another that will appreciate this surface is Themaxwecan.

This consistent sort has ran numerous big races in similar events and he has also previously performed on seasonal reappreance.

This 7-y-o is thrown in on some of his previous form so he looks worth an each-way play with five places on offer.

He went off the boil for Ruth Carr slipping 7lb down the handicap in three starts but he has since switched to Ian Jardine who can bring horses back to life.

The son of Canford Cliffs comes with risks attached but he is dangerously well-handicapped and shouldn’t be ruled out.

We round off Musselburgh with a Class 6 handicap over 1m.

This definitely isn’t the most exciting race of the day however First Response is down to a very attractive mark and he rates decent bet at an each way price tag.

The 6-y-o is winless on the AW this season but he is now 8lb lower than when fourth on his final turf start in September which makes him well-handicapped.
