This grey gelding isn’t the horse of old but it is only 12 months since he finished 4l behind Barney Roy in a listed event and he has a nice weight for this handicap.

He had a trouble passage behind today’s favourite last time out and now meets that rival on more favourable terms.

Belgrano is evidently in good heart having finished second last time out and he is proven around this track having won here last season.

He handles the ground, has a fair draw and the claimer takes off 7lb.

Solid e/w option.

This gelding travelled smoothly before fading on his latest start and Soumillon looks an interesting booking moving into a handicap.

Despite finishing sixth, he was last off the bridle that day and he looks to have enough ability to land a race of this nature.
