The next race at Newmarket is a tight-knitted 1m4f handicap with Global Storm being our each-way suggestion.

This gelding mixed it in some useful handicaps last term and he caught the eye when making significant late progress at Meydan in February.

That race may give him a fitness advantage over some of today’s rivals and he is now 18lb better off than when clashing with Zabeel Champion last July.

Yard in form, Buick rides.

This 4-y-o filly definitely sits on a lenient mark so if David Simcock has her tuned up for her return then she looks a cracking each-way bet; though horses from this source can often need the run.

She had to weave from the rear when staying on behind Prince Alex at York in October and she is 5lb better off this time around.

Andrea Atzeni rides off bottom-weight.

One of our best bets on the Sunday at Newmarket is A'Shaari for Charlie Appleby and Godolphin in the Listed Pretty Polly Stakes.

The three year old daughter of Dubawi has only been seen once in her career to date and what a debut it was when getting off the mark at the first time of asking.

She went into a Class 5 Novice Stakes at Newmarket over seven furlongs and on soft ground went on to dominate a decent field including Ready To Venture for William Haggas.

Getting onto better ground should bring more improvement on Sunday and being a full sister to the talented Wuheida, tells us her pedigree suggests she will suit the step up to 1m2f.

The younger age group dominate this race so it will be interesting to see how much Roger Varian’s Fooraat will improve for her recent return on the AW.

This sister to Benbatl is held in the highest regards by connections and she looked right out of the top draw when bolting up at Chelmsford on her second career start last June.

She mixed it in pattern races after that without really living up to expectation but her pedigree suggests she may bounce back as a 4-y-o so now she is fit from her return we will find out how good she really is.

Muker may have just needed the run on return which would make him a brilliant price at 9/2 based on his 2-y-o form.

His third in the Windsor Castle is the standout effort in this event and he was desperately unlucky not to land the Group3 prize at Dundalk when he travelled over towards the end of the season.

If he comes on for his initial effort he should at least hit the front two.

The feature race on the Sunday is the 1000 Guineas and we have two each-way selections trained out of Ireland.

Firstly, Mother Earth has a similar profile to Love and Hermosa having had plenty of juvenile experience before stepping into the Guineas and she may be able to put her experience to good use despite a low draw.

She looked to be improving race-to-race last term finishing off with an eye-catching effort at the Breeders’ Cup and the quicker ground conditions today will play to her strengths.
