ITV Saturday Preview From York And Goodwood

13:50 York - The Sky Bet And Symphony Group Strensall Stakes

The first race of the day is the Group Three Sky Bet And Symphony Group Strensall Stakes and in this sharp looking contest we have sided with John Gosden's Wissahickon.

This colt is a very talented four year old who absolutely smashed up the all weather scene at the start of the year winning three out of his four races.

He took two Listed contests and the Group 3 Winter Derby Stakes with ease but was beaten by Matterhorn in the Middle Distance All Weather Championships race which was a huge shock.

He has not been seen since that day but looks to wanting to make a revival on the turf where he also has some smart form especially when last seen back in September taking the 33 runner Cambridgeshire Handicap Stakes.

Big Player with Dettori on board.

14:05 Goodwood - The Ladbrokes Celebration Mile Stakes

The first race from Goodwood on the ITV show is the Group 2 Celebration Mile Stakes and we have sided with the William Haggas trained SKARDU.

This three year old has a had a little break off the track compared to the rest of the field which should mean he is fresh for this contest.

He also offers the best form in this contest finishing a strong fourth last time out at Royal Ascot in the St James's Palace Stakes with that for being franked massively since.

If on song will be tough to beat.

14:25 York - The Sky Bet Melrose Handicap Stakes

The Melrose Handicap sees a decent sized field of runners go to post with that we have gone for a horse that does not mind a rough race and that is Eminence.

The Aidan O'Brien trained three year old has ran to a really high standard this season not finishing outside the top three on all five of his starts.

He scored on debut and has gone from strength to strength ever since placing in a tough handicap at Royal Ascot over 1 mile 4f and did the same at Goodwood last time out.

Has to be massively respected.

14:40 Goodwood - The Ladbrokes Prestige Stakes

The Group Three Prestige Stakes rounds off the racing from Goodwood for the ITV viewers and in this hot contest we have sided with Andrew Balding's SHADN.

This two year old filly has been superb in two of her three races date scoring in both of them with her final contest seeing her land a Listed race at Newbury which sets the form standard here.

On her second start she headed to Royal Ascot and was a bit overwhelmed in the Group Two Queen Mary Stakes but after her recent run and more experience in tougher races she should go well.

15:00 York - The Sky Bet City Of York Stakes

Joseph O'Brien's Speak In Colours has been highly progressive this season and goes for us in the Group Two City Of York Stakes over seven furlongs.

This colt started his season off nicely at the Curragh in a Group Two finishing a good second, he then went to Royal Ascot and was a good fourth in the Diamond Jubilee Stakes.

He then got off the mark for the season in the Listed Dash Stakes over In Ireland and from there headed to Goodwood for his first crack at seven furlongs and he was an unlucky fourth that day.

He never got a clear run and in this one he can improve massively.

15:40 York - The Sky Bet Ebor Handicap Stakes

The feature race of the final day from York is the £1 million Sky Bet Ebor Handicap and in this 22 runner field we have gone for two selections.

The first is the John Gosden trained Ben Vrackie who ran really well on his seasonal debut only finishing second by a short head to the progressive Baghdad at Royal Ascot.

He was less than impressive last time out and back down slightly in trip should see him get back to his form from his first race of the season.

The other selection in the race at a bigger price is the Tim Easterby's Wells Farhh Go who has looked good winning Listed and Group races during his career and should firmly be in the frame here.
