In the Listed bet365 Stakes at Newbury on Saturday we believe that the exciting Derab for trainer John Gosden is massively overpriced at his current odds of 9/2 and is only likely to get shorter.

Having been taken out of his latest engagement and jocked up for this event already it looks highly likely he will turn up to this event.

As for the horse itself, the son of Sea The Stars has a superb pedigree and has always been destined for greatness being a half brother to the queen of racing Enable.

Seen four times during his career, the three year old was seen once as a juvenile at Ascot over 7f and he finished a narrow second to the talented La Barrosa.

Saved for this term he made his seasonal debut over a mile at Newbury where again he had to settle for runner up, this time behind the Group One Falmouth Stakes winner Snow Lantern.

On his third career start he finally got off the mark when bolting up on good to soft ground at Newmarket by close to seven lengths.

Off the back of that smart run he was sent into the Group One Prix Du Jockey Club and finished a respectable eighth of 19 runners, with the soft ground going against him.

The form of that race has been franked with winner St Mark's Basilica since winning the Coral Eclipse and Derab now drops into Listed company.

If being the Group horse that the yard feels he could be then he needs to be taking this event out and at 9/2 it seems a nice price to find out.

The first race over the jumps at Market Rasen on Saturday is the Betway Summer Handicap Hurdle over 2m 1/2f and the Philip Hobbs trained Camprond looks to have a serious engine.

The son of Lope De Vega was a fair runner on the flat in France and was bought by JP McManus to be raced in England over hurdles.

The five year old started in November and placed on his first start and then backed that up next time out with another good run at Sedgefield.

Given a short break he returned at the back end of March at Taunton and rallied late on to get off the mark in Britain at Taunton over todays trip.

From there he was upped in Class and sent into a classy event at Aintree's Grand National meeting and was a narrow second off a mark of 125.

Since then he has been seen finishing a good third in the Swinton Handicap Hurdle behind the smart Copperless at Haydock and then last time out he got back to winning ways over course and distance at Market Rasen.

He was a 17 length victor and runs in this event off the same mark which makes him dangerous.

The second selection of the afternoon comes in the Bahrain Turf Series Handicap Over 2m 1/2f and we are going with the jumps horse Scaramanga to be tough to beat on stamina.

The six year old for Paul Nicholls is rated 84 on the flat for this event, but as a hurdler was rated 144 which would see him mix it with the best over flights.

Looking to exploit this mark the gelding heads into the event having won his last two starts over hurdles, including a very good handicap over 2m4f at Sandown In April.

As for his runs on the flat, he was last seen at Bath back in October off a mark of 86 and now 2lb for that run, he could be a huge player at an each way price.

The feature event at Market Rasen on Saturday is the Grade Three Summer Plate Handicap Chase and at an each way price Francky Du Berlais should be in the mix.

The Peter Bowen trained eight year old has been highly consistent throughout the last year racing nine times and only finishing outside the top two twice.

This summer he has raced three times, winning at Haydock in May on soft ground over 2m4f and then over the same distance at Uttoxeter he ran out a winner again, this time on good ground.

He was last seen finishing a fair third at Cartmel over todays trip and off the same mark should be close once more.

The feature race of the day at Newbury on Saturday is the Group Three Hackwood Stakes over six furlongs and we can't look past last years winner Tabdeed.

The six year old has always been a smart sprinter, landing this event last season and also taking out good handicaps at Ascot and Doncaster.

He is extremely lightly raced for his age and this term has only been seen once in the run up to this event, finishing a good fourth in the Group Three Chipchase Stakes.

That run would have put him bang on for this event and having won on good and good to soft in the past, this surface should be exactly what he needs.

Value player.

The final event from Market Rasen's big summer meeting on ITV is another Handicap Hurdle over 2m7f and Taste The Fear for Dr Richard Newland.

This season the six year old has been in electric form, racing three times since May, winning once and placing in the other two events.

Over todays trip in May the gelding was a bright second behind a nice type forDan Skelton, but bounced back to get off the mark at Uttoxeter, winning by close to seven lengths.

Off the same mark next time out back at Worcester he was a narrow second to the smart Haul Away with him being very unlucky in the stewards room not to get the race.

Only up 3lb for that run he still looks progressive and it would be no surprise for him to go close, staying the trip out really well.

The feature event of the afternoon at The Curragh is the Group One Irish Oaks and although a very short price, Snowfall should not be beaten by this field.

Having needed her first two runs as a juvenile, she got off the mark at The Curragh at the third time of asking in a Fillies' Maiden.

However, since then she has raced four times between seven furlongs and a mile in decent graded events and has struggled being outclassed.

Stepping up in trip on debut this term brought bring improvement out of her, when winning the Group Three Musidora Stakes at York over 10.5f.

Many thought off the back of that she should have been closer in the market to her stablemate Santa Barbara, and they were right.

Snowfall went on to take the event with ease, winning by a record 16 lengths for Aidan O'Brien and jockey Frankie Dettori and that saw the handler land the event for the ninth time.

She is the big odds on favourite to land the Oaks double and if performing anything like she did at Epsom then she will not be beaten.

Future star.

Richard Fahey

Another nice event on the day from Newbury is the Class 2 Super Sprint Stakes over five furlongs and we are siding with the Coventry Stakes third Vintage Clarets.

This two year old for Richard Fahey loves the ground as fast as possible so will not appreciate any rain, but overall he looks a very progressive type that offers some of the smartest form in the field.

Starting at Doncaster in March he was a fair fourth behind market rival Chipotle, but off the back of that he got off the mark at Beverley in very taking fashion.

Staying on an upward curve he went into a Novice Stakes at Ayr and won that again with ease and was then upped in class to the Group Two Coventry Stakes at Royal Ascot and finished a very smart third.

The winner of that race looks a very smart type and having been only just over a length behind him, he looks a big player here if coming on again.
