ITV Racing Newbury And Warwick Preview

13:50 Newbury - The Betfair Bet In-Play Handicap Hurdle Race

First up is a 9-runner handicap and it is another Colin Tizzard horse which takes the eye after his run at Cheltenham after a long time off.

Ainchea comfortably defeated whatswrongwithyou on good ground at Sandown last season who subsequently beat Ok Corral and Rockpoint in his next two races. He reached a rating of 139 and Ainchea is in off 133 here, making him look very well-handicapped.

He was backed into 7/2 from 6/1 from when sent off favourite last time out but he made a mistake when travelling sweetly and lost momentum.

The trainer has stated he will improve for racing this season after such a long lay-off and his brother improved vastly when upped to 3m, so further progress is anticipated.

14:05 Warwick The Kingmaker Novices' Steeple Chase (Grade 2)

The feature race of the day is the Grade Two Kingmaker Novices Chase over two miles and Nube Negra is the stand out selection of the day for us at Warwick.

The Spanish bred gelding for Dan Skelton was a smart hurdler but has turned into an even better chaser under the Skelton's winning his first two outings with ease.

He stepped into a tougher race last time out at Sandown in the Grade One Henry VIII Novices Chase where he was a good second behind a smart Evan Williams Horse and if on song is the one to beat.

14:25 Newbury - The Betfair Exchange Steeple Chase (Grade 2)

This selection doesn't need much explaining, Altior is easily the best horse in this race on a going-day and he has never lost a race on good ground.

Henderson is in fine form and this is his second start since under going wind-surgery - everything points to another winning performance.

14:40 Warwick - The St Mary's Lands Warwick Mares' Hurdle Race (Nhmops Bonus Race)

The Listed Mares Hurdle over two miles five furlongs is the last of the big races on the Warwick card and Cap Soliel for Fergal O'Brien who has had a fine season so far looks a nice each way price.

The seven year old has struggled on her last two contests but now seems to be on a nice enough mark to get back in the winners enclosure.

Her best bit of form was when staying on well to grab second behind the run away winner of the Grade Two Mares Novices Hurdle Laurina at the Cheltenham festival.

If getting back to that sort of head frame she has a big shout in this one and if the ground was to go good to soft it would give her ideal conditions.

15:00 Newbury - The Betfair Denman Steeple Chase (Grade 2)

Native River has won this race two of the last three seasons and is likely to be very hard to beat, but at 1/3 there isn't much value and we are giving the legendary Might Bite one last chance to bounce back to his brilliant best.

On their day there isn't much between these two and Might Bite is in receipt of 6lb plus he gets his favoured good ground. Henderdon's red-hot form gives optimism about his chances and at 13/2 there is e/w value.

15:15 Warwick - The Warwick Castle Handicap Steeple Chase

NO BET

15:35 The Betfair Hurdle Race (Handicap) (Grade 3)

This is one of the hottest renewals of the Betfair Hurdle for a long while and we have picked out two e/w chances with 6 places on offer.

Firstly, if Barry Geraghty can switch off Never Adapt in the early stages he has a cracking chance of picking them off in the latter stages of the race.

They are likely to go a good-clip here so we are hoping Barry settles in the rear before taking it up late on.Second up is Highly Prized, who looks a crazy price at 20/1.

If owned by JP this horse would be half the price having bolted in by 8l last time out and Jonjo O'Neill Jr is an interesting booking by Emma Lavelle, who certainly knows how to land a nice handicap.
