The first selection of the day from Haydock comes in the Class 4 Fillies Maiden over six furlongs and Wild Beauty for Charlie Appleby looks the pick of the bunch.

The two year old daughter of Frankel has a superb pedigree, but did look to need her debut over five furlongs at Ascot when sixth of eight runners.

She is sure to come on for that experience with her learning a lot late on and getting an extra furlong today makes her very interesting.

Shouldn't mind cut in the ground.

The feature race on the card is the Listed Cecil Frail Stakes over six furlongs and the Karl Burke trained Dandalla should be a class above the field.

The star three year old started her career off at Newcastle when winning a Fillies Maiden by two lengths and off the back of that she stepped up to the Group Three Albany Stakes at Royal Ascot and absolutely hosed up.

Over six furlongs at Newmarket she landed the Group Two Duke Of Cambridge Stakes beating Fev Rover who went onto frank the form by landing a Group Two in France.

The natural progression for this filly was to step into Group One company in the Cheveley Park Stakes and having been favourite at one point, she had obvious claims but unfortunately did not handle the track and was outclassed by some of the more experienced juveniles.

Back for another season she went up in trip for the Group Three Fred Darling Stakes and although seventh, she ran a good race first time out.

Dropping back to 6f is the right move and if improving for the run looks an obvious contender, having already won on soft as a juvenile.

Next up is the Fillies' Novices Stakes over seven furlongs and Pink Storm for Karl Burke has the experience to dominate in this field.

The two year old daughter of Aclaim has been seen twice to date which makes her one of the most experienced in the field.

On debut in early April she finished a good third at Newcastle on the all weather over five furlongs and then next time out at Nottingham over the same trip was third again, making a decent course debut.

The form of both those runs offers the best on show in the field and the extra two furlongs could be exactly what she wants.

The penultimate selection of the day comes in the Fillies' Novice Stakes over a mile and Barshaa for Simon & Ed Crisford looks a big player.

The three year old filly has only been seen once to date and she finished eighth of 16 on debut over 8.5 furlongs at Nottingham on good to soft.

The daughter of Dubawi was extremely green that day and if settling better she has a big chance of taking a big step forward in a race that looks winnable.

The final event of the afternoon 10.5 furlongs Class 5 Handicap and the favourite Wink Of An Eye for the Queen looks a big improver.

The three year old ran three times as a juvenile not looking anything special, but gaining plenty of valuable experience ready for this season's campaign.

Back for his seasonal debut the son of Dubawi was stepped up to 10 furlongs at Goodwood and was a bold second on handicap debut.

The gelding is up 5lb for that run off a mark of a mark of 71 and if being as good as they think he can, that mark still looks workable and his pedigree suggests he will handle the soft ground.
