Friday Night Under Lights - 18/01/2019

18:00 - Ciao

No bets from us in the first two contests under lights at Dundalk on Friday, so skipping to the third: the Fastfix Handicap, where Ciao can say goodbye to the opposition in her first ever handicap.

There is every chance there is more to come from her after her course and distance win in a maiden just two weeks ago.

Well drawn, and can use her young age and fresher legs to her advantage against elder rivals.

18:30 - Paddytheirishman

Division I of the BK Forklifts Handicap over a mile can go the way of G T Lynch's Paddytheirishman, who was a close third here last week.

Surely a win is not too far away on the basis of that effort, and the return to stepping back up to a mile surely will look to suit once more.

A 32-race maiden, and we believe the time is now for him to break that unwanted tag.

19:00 - Beau Satchel

Division II of the BK Forklifts Handicap can go the way of previous course and distance successor Beau Satchel for Adrian McGuinness and Tom Madden.

Made the trip to Wolverhampton two weeks ago to only finish third in a seller, for which there were no buyers.

Now back to the track he has raced in the three outings prior to that, where he usually goes best despite a recent slump in form.

Should make a bid if finding his best foot.

19:30 - Georgian Bay

The 9yo Georgian Bay looks a certain candidate to compete for the Mourne Windows & Doors Handicap as he always does.

75 races under rules until now, providing six wins, and we believe he can bag another one here after his recent success over course and distance a week ago.

In fact he also scored on his final start of 2018, so he is really on a roll and has been raised 6lbs for his efforts.

Madden on board another one our selections, and claims three.

20:00 - Charming Kid

The J Duffy Services Race can go to the top one: Charming Kid, for a rare Irish runner for Richard Fahey.

Fahey had a quiet year last year, but has started 2019 off a bit more brightly with two winners on the all-weather in England.

Charming Kid is a very lightly raced 3yo colt, and was last seen finishing third at Kempton in a Fast-Track qualifier.

Major claims.

20:30 - The Right Choice

The final race is the Fast Shipping Handicap, where The Right Choice - another for Richard Fahey who could be eyeing a double, can back-up our faith in him.

The Right Choice has only been seen once away from Southwell in his last five racecourse appearances.

He has turned into a bit of a master on the fibresand, but will need to transition that to the quicker surface on the polytrack at Dundalk.

Two wins in his last three, so remains a serious player.
