Friday Night Under Lights - 08/11/2018

5:30 - Chamrousse

The opening race under lights at Dundalk on Friday night, is the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Fillies Maiden, and we have picked out Chamrousse, trained by Willie McCreery.

She looks a progressive daughter of Raven's Pass, and this looks like the ideal race for her to get off the mark, after three close attempts.

Declan McDonogh takes the ride.

6:00 - Raynama

Raynama trained by Dermot Weld, looks like another with a golden opportunity to break his maiden tag.

He was a runner-up to the classy I Can Fly in a Dundalk maiden last season, was then absent for over a year, before promising return on the turf over seven furlongs at Cork.

Beaten favourite at Galway over a week ago to a good rival, and will not be far away.

6:30 - Ishigati

Next up is Division I of the Crowne Plaza Hotel Race & Stay Handicap, and Ishigati arrives here with some good recent turf form.

He finished second to Tuamhain at Gowran Park a fortnight ago and like him, now switches back to the polytrack, where his mark is 2lb lower.

Looks interesting.

7:30 - Boston Bruin

Boston Bruin - one of the few who have seen a racecourse before, could make his experience count in the Irish Stallion Farms Maiden.

He finished third to the Aiden O'Brien trained Western Australia, who went on to finish third in the Vertem Futurity Trophy at Doncaster last month.

Interesting pedigree, associated to many previous winners.

8:00 - Geological

Geological is an ever-present figure at Dundalk, and probably knows the track better than anyone else. 46 All-weather runs to his name, he has converted five of those into victories, including winning here in a similar contest back in August.

He is weighted exactly the same as that outing, and now has claimer Stephen Mooney aboard.

Will be in the frame for another win.

8:30 - Park Row

Park Row just failed to land a hat-trick of wins at Dundalk last month, when just falling short of Leaderboard in an apprentice handicap.

He has risen 16lb in the weights since September, and will be named at the top of the weights on the racecard before the off. However, at 8yo, he is the standout name in the field and will take all the beating.

9:00 - Rips Dream

Rips Dream stormed to a five-length success here last week, and can follow that up again, despite a 9lb rise.

Dead heated for second when beaten by Park Row at the end of September, a win did not look far off the cards.

He beat the Sheila Lavery-trained Danehill Quest easily last week, and looks another weak contest for him to return to the winners enclosure.
