Twelve line up for the French Guineas on Sunday with the UK hero Poetic Flare heading the market at 13/8.

Bolger’s star 3-y-o boasts obvious claims but at a slim price we are happy to oppose with St. Marks Basilica.

Aidan O’Brien’s son of Siyouni is evidently here in search of his beloved soft ground with him being unbeaten on the surface and one of those victories came over today’s favourite.

His win in the Dewhurst is a standout piece of form & we believe he has the ability to overturn Poetic Flare despite the obvious fitness advantage.

The UK 1000 Guineas winner also lines up in the French version and we think she has a cracking chance of landing the double.

This filly is well travelled already having ran a cracker at the Breeders’ Cup and her victory in the Guineas was another step forward with her producing an exciting turn of foot.

The daughter of Zoffany finished third in the Fillies’ Mile at Newmarket last season which is a race that often produces a strong level of form and that event also confirms she handles soft ground.

Andre Fabre’s unbeaten expensive purchase Philiomene is an obvious threat but our selection is the one with the form in the book and we feel she will put her experience to good use.
