The first event of the afternoon is the Maiden Hurdle over 2m4f and Level Neverending has a perfect opportunity to get back to winning ways.

A five year old son of Flemensfirth, the gelding made a good bumper debut in July last year finishing third of 16 at Tipperary.

Off the back of that run he landed back to back events in bumpers at Galway and Killarney, his second win an emphatic 15 length rout of the second.

Sent over hurdles in October at Wexford he made a superb debut looking the winner all the way round just being chinned on the line.

Looks a perfect opportunity to break his duck over hurdles.

In the second division of the Maiden Hurdle Snake Oil looks the form horse to beat for trainer Barry Connell having finished well in defeat last time out behind a nice horse.

The seven year old son of Westerner started over hurdles last year needing the run at Galway, but given a spin over hurdles he got off the mark at Listowel in taking fashion.

Sent back over hurdles in 2020 he was third behind two smart Gigginstown horses in Wide Receiver and Decimation.

Off the track for two years with an injury setback he was a very smart second behind the talented Bring On The Night for Willie Mullins who then went on to run in the Supreme Novices' Hurdle.

Should go close if improving for that first run back for a long time.

The Listed Mares Chase over 2m 5 1/2f sees some good mares go against each other for the umpteenth time this year and we think Dolcita can get the better of them.

A smart hurdles horse finishing second behind stablemate Concertista in the Grade Two Mares' Novices' Hurdle at the 2020 Cheltenham festival.

Kept hurdling under Paul Nicholls she was poor in her two runs and was then sent back to Mullins where she was sent chasing straight away.

Running four times to date over the bigger obstacles her best run came two starts ago when winning a Beginners Chase over 2m5f.

Second last time out behind Jeremys Flame in a Mares Novice Chase she needs to reverse the form but that was off level weights that day and now receiving 3lb could be the difference.

The first big race of the day in Ireland is the Grade Two Novice Hurdle over 2m4f and the horse that takes the eye is the Willie Mullins trained Berkshire Royal.

A smart horse on the flat for Andrew Balding, he has since switched to Mullins and been sent over hurdles beingequally as effective winning at Kilbeggan on debut before finishing a good second in a Grade Three last time out at Thurles behind the talented The Goffer.

He was an eye-catcher that day and deserves his chance at this level for the inform Closutton maestro.

The final Grade Two event of the afternoon at Fairyhouse is the Novice Hurdle over two miles and The Tide Turns at the odds looks the value.

Smart juvenile for Gordon Elliott this term having been a decent horse on the flat for Sir Mark Prescott.

He landed his first event over hurdles in a 20 runner Maiden beating HMS Seahorse at Punchestown and then backed that up at the Dublin Racing Festival when fourth of nine behind the likes of Vauban, Fil Dor and Il Etait Temps in Grade One company.

Seen twice more he was fourth in a Grade Three in open company behind the talented Teahupoo and that run got him into the Boodles at the Cheltenham festival where he unfortunately flopped.

He never ran his race that day and now getting back into a smaller field and getting back to his earlier form, he is the value player.

The final event of the afternoon is the Listed Mares Bumper over two miles and although needing to reverse some form with some of these runners, Pink In The Park for Willie Mullins is a top quality horse.

The five year old daughter of Walk In The Park made a superb debut back in September 2021 when emphatically beating a field of 18 runners by 14 lengths.

Put away since then she returned in the Grade Two Mares bumper at the Dublin Racing Festival and although being smashed off the boards could only manage fifth in a photo-finish.

She may have needed the run that day and should come on for that, with the deep ground also going against her in February.

Big player, but she does need to improve on what she did last time out.
