Fairyhouse Sunday Preview - 02/12/18

12:35 - Coeur Sublime

Gordon Elliott looks to have a stunning chance of landing the opener at Fairyhouse on Sunday - the Grade 3 baroneracing.com Juvenile Hurdle, with both Chief Justice and Coeur Sublime.

We have gone with the latter, who despite just the one run over hurdles, has plenty to like about him, and ran out a readily winner at Down Royal.

Few jumping errors which trainer can easily correct, and expected to go close here.

13:05 - Commander Of Fleet

Commander Of Fleet - selected as one our three horses to follow for Gigginstown this season, takes his place in the Royal Bond Novice Hurdle.

Three starts; beginning with a win in an Irish point-to-point, he then breezed home in the Land Rover Bumper at Punchestown in April, before making a winning start at the same venue over hurdles a fortnight ago.

The vibes are sky-high with this 4yo, who just after one run over timber in a maiden, is already the favourite to follow in the footsteps of stable companion Samcro, with a success at Cheltenham in the Ballymore Novices Hurdle.

Strong chances.

13:35 - Delta Work

Gordon Elliott could be having the time of his life, if both our tips land in the first two, followed up with Delta Work in the Grade 1 Drinmore Novice Chase.

Last year's Pertemps winner at the Festival, scored on his chasing at Down Royal a month ago nearly, and will surely improve on that effort as he was not overall convincing.

Leading claims with Le Richerbourg.

14:10 - Fitzhenry

Fitzhenry can take one of the big handicaps of the day for Paul Nolan, in the Grade B Porterstown Handicap Chase.

Consistent sort when stepped up to 3m last season with form figures of 32121 between November and February, and should not be far away if getting this further increased trip of 3m5f.

Chances with a clear passage.

14:40 - Apple’s Jade

Regular rider Jack Kennedy is back from suspension in time to partner his mare, bidding for a third success in the Grade 1 Hattons Grace Hurdle.

She is already a short price for this Grade 1, as she begins her quest potentially back towards the Mares Hurdle at the Festival where she certainly has unfinished business.

The door is also open for the Stayers, but connections realise there is a job to do here first.

Won well on reappearance in Lismullen Hurdle, and should prevail here once again.

15:10 - Jezki

Former Champion Hurdler Jezki drops back to handicapping, in the Download The App baroneracing.com Handicap Hurdle.

Still capable of some very good form, he won back in March at Leopardstown very smartly, before a good return in a Grade 2 last time out, behind Apples Jade - who could land the Hattons Grace in the race before.

Big field, and hopefully he can weave his way through some back-peddling rivals late on.

15:40 - Envoi Allen

The card closes with the royalhousedraw.com National Hunt Flat Race, when Envoi Allen can prove another smart purchase by Cheveley Park Stud for Gordon Elliott.

Elliott already trains the favourite for the Champion Bumper in Malone Road, but this £400,000 4yo bolted up in a Ballinaboola maiden back in February, and has a lot of smart attributes himself.

Major player.
