Days: 26

The first race of the day is the Group Two Lowther Stakes and it sees 11 juvenile sprinters head to post for the event and we have two selections at each way prices.

The first is the Stuart Williams trained Desert Dreamer who has been seen five times during her small career scoring on debut at Newmarket in a smart five furlong maiden that has seen the form franked on numerous occasions.

Stepped up to six furlong next time out she was another good winner at Newmarket and off the back of that headed to Royal Ascot.

She was sent into the Group Two Queen Mary Stakes and although running nicely could only finish midfield, with the drop to 5f finding her out.

Since then she has been seen twice more, finishing a bright second in the Listed Empress Stakes behind rival System and again last time out she was another close runner up behind the unbeaten Sandrine in the Group Two Duchess Of Cambridge Stakes at Newmarket.

Continuing with her unlucky run she was another good second at Ascot last time out when losing the Group Three Margaret Stakes by a nose to Zain Claudette.

She takes those horses on again in this event, but having Oisin Murphy back on board in the form he is in could be a big factor.

Brian Meehan

Days: 17

At a bigger price is the Brian Meehan trained Vertiginous who is a very talented filly but does look hard work and if getting her to settle she could be interesting.

Vertiginous remains a maiden after three runs, however stepped up massively from her second placed debut effort to finish fifth in the Group Two Queen Mary at Ascot.

Looking to get off the mark for her career she went to Kempton in a maiden, but did everything wrong round the bend and had to settle for second behind Silken Petals.

She obviously holds bundles of ability but now needs to show it going up in trip and we are happy to give her a chance at her current double figure price.

Next up is the Premier Yearling Stakes over six furlongs that in the past has seen some smart youngsters land the event and like the previous event, we have two each way punts.

The first is the Richard Hannon trained System who looks to have huge chance on form and also the handler has landed four of the last five renewals.

The daughter of Galileo Gold kept on well on debut at Salisbury over six furlongs, however was just headed towards the line to finish an eventual second.

She clearly learnt a lot from that run and progressed extremely well to land a Listed event next time out at Newmarket ahead of re-opposing rival Desert Dreamer.

The filly was again upped in class to the Group Three Margaret Stakes, but drifted throughout the day and did not give her best running.

Back into an easier sphere she can dominate and looks to be a very nice prospect for the yard going forward.

Days: 33

Another big fielded event on the second day at York is the Clipper Logistics Handicap over 7 1/2 furlongs and once again we like two at big prices.

At 18/1 Irish Admiral for William Haggas could have a huge chance off his current mark, shaping extremely well in similar events this term.

The four year old ran nicely on both occasions as a juvenile, winning at Dundalk for trainer John Feane on debut and then backed that up in Listed company at Leopardstown when a good third.

Moved over to Haggas this season the gelding got back to winning ways in a Novice Stakes over 8.5 furlongs at Wolves.

He was then seen stepping up in trip at York over 1m2f and finishing a fair third behind Surrey Pride, making headway from the rear but being outstayed close home.

Dropped back in trip in Epsom he gave a lesser performance when midfield and then was poor at Royal Ascot in the 30 runner Royal Hunt Cup.

He ran in a very smart race last time out at Newmarket and although fifth was not a long way behind the winner and running in this off 1lb lower makes him interesting.

OR: 91
Days: 18

With no bet in the Group One Yorkshire Oaks due to the favourite Snowfall being far too small in price to tip up, we move onto the seven furlong Nursery Handicap.

We like the look of the William Haggas trained Maglev who looks an exceptionally bred son of Galileo Gold who cost £210,000 as a two year old.

The colt made his debut this term in a smart six runner event at Leicester finishing fourth and the race has seen the first three home since go on and win.

Maglev also franked the form winning next time out in novice company over six furlongs at Yarmouth, with the smart Home City back in second boosting the form las time out.

Put into a Conditions Stakes at Chester, the three runner race turned into a tactical affair where Maglev was trapped in and got going too late just being denied on the line.

Making his handicap debut off today off a mark of 91 makes us think there is much more to offer and he should go close if getting a clear run.

Mark Johnston

Days: 47

The penultimate event of the afternoon is the Listed Sir Henry Cecil Galtres Stakes over 1m3 1/2f and Dubai Fountain for Mark Johnston looks overpriced.

The filly won twice as a two year old in low grade affairs before hitting the post in better quality races. Coming second in a Listed race, a Group Three and a Group Two saw she was of the quality for big races but just not quite having things fall her way.

Returning to the track at Chester in the Cheshire Oaks she just got the upper hand over Zeyaadah, making the most of the 3lbs her rival had to give away to her.

Next seen in the Oaks she was well fancied and went off only 4/1 for the classic but finished 12th of 14. She was possibly a bit too keen in the early uphill stages of the race and paid for it late on when the field got racing.

Looking to bounce back she went to Ascot in the Ribblesdale and having been well backed again could only finish fifth of 13.

Last time out she ran no race at all in the Group Two Lancashire Oaks and back down to Listed company she looks a big price.

John & Thady Gosden
Age: 3
Weight: 9-0
OR: 96
Days: 40

The final event of the afternoon is the seven furlongs Fillies' Handicap and Star Of Emaraaty for John & Thady Gosden looks well handicapped.

The three year old ran home fifth on her stable debut for the Gosdens in the Nell Gwynn (Group Three, 7f) having joined from Kevin Ryan and was then tried in the 1000 Guineas when being outclassed.

The big field at Ascot in the Sandringham Stakes did not suit, but back down to seven furlongs at Newmarket last time out saw her give her best run for a while when a good third behind Spirit Of Bermuda and Rising Star in a good handicap.

She goes into this event off the same mark with the second in that race since franking the form.

Big chance at a price.
