The first selection of the afternoon on day two of the November meeting is the Milton Harris trained Scriptwriter who looks the value in the Grade Two JCB Triumph Trial Juvenile Hurdle.

A 102 rated flat horse, this season he has been moved from Aidan O'Brien's yard to Harris to go over hurdles and off the back of his debut he looks to be a very smart type.

Making his debut at Sedgefield when comfortably getting the job done late on over 2m1f, he now steps into Grade Two company.

The yard won the race last year with a very similar type in Knight Salute who was rated 91 on the flat and with this Scriptwriter potentially a better recruit for the yard he looks very interesting.

T: Nicky Henderson
Age: 7
Weight: 11-3
OR: 129
Days: 234

Next up is the Amateur Jockey's Handicap Chase over 3m1f and with a decent field heading to post we have picked out two horses at each way prices.

The first is the Nicky Henderson trained Valsheda that should be better than a mark of 129 and could have a big future in staying handicaps this season.

An out and out stayer the seven year old gelding is very unexposed only being seen five times to date, winning two events.

Sent chasing last term he was second on his first start over three miles behind the smart Killer Kane and then at Ffos Las in March won a Handicap off 125.

Only 4lb higher for this event he could be well in and certain to get the trip he is very interesting but he does look a tough horse to train.

Miss Alice Stevens

Jimmy The Digger

J: Miss Alice Stevens
T: Henry Daly
Age: 9
Weight: 10-10
OR: 122
Days: 22

At a slightly bigger price is a horse for Henry Daly we tipped up last time out at the October meeting and we can't ignore him again and that's Jimmy The Digger.

A horse that has always looked to want a trip and of late his handler has stepped him up and trip and given him just that.

Seen in February last year when tackling three miles for the second time in his career, he finished a good second to battler Bobhopeornohope at Ludlow and then next time out over the same trip at Kempton on good ground he was a close second again, this time behind the talented Twenty Twenty for Gary Moore.

Off a mark of 115 he looked to have more in the tank and he was certainly well in at Cheltenham's October meeting when coming from the clouds to get up late on over course and distance.

Off 7lb higher for this run on a mark of 122 he could still have more to give having been a bit snug when getting there at the line.

J J Slevin

T: Joseph Patrick O'Brien
Age: 6
Weight: 11-4
OR: 143
Days: 42

One of the big events of the afternoon is the Grade Two Arkle Challenge Trophy Trial Novices' Chase over two miles and we think Banbridge can win from the front.

A very smart hurdler for Joseph O'Brien winning in January at Navan over two miles when beating Au Fleuron and then off a mark of 137 landed the 23 runner Martin Pipe Handicap Hurdle at the 2022 Cheltenham festival in good style.

Sent chasing this term he made an emphatic seasonal debut at Gowran Park over 2m4f when winning by close to 9 lengths and although dropping back in trip for this event we expect him to go from the front and make all.

Class above.

Darragh O'Keeffe

French Dynamite

J: Darragh O'Keeffe
T: M F Morris
Age: 7
Weight: 11-6
OR: 148
Days: 23

The big event of the afternoon at Prestbury Park on Saturday is the Paddy Power Gold Cup Handicap Chase over 2m4f and again with a big field going to post we have picked out two who are interesting.

French Dynamite could just be extremely well in with the handicapper for this event having been an exciting hurdler and shown enough in good chase events this season to suggest a mark of 148 is not beyond him.

Having good form in Grade One and Two events over hurdles, he was sent chasing in October 2021 and having used that first experience he got off the mark at the second time of asking at Punchestown.

Sent to the Dublin Racing Festival when chasing home Galopin Des Champs back in sixth, he was then dropped into a Grade Three event at Thurles and beat Ciel De Neige to take the event.

Finishing last season at the Punchestown Festival in the Novice Handicap Chase off a mark of 144 he was a good third behind El Barra and Busselton who have both franked the form since, with the fourth Fan Des Blues also winning this season.

French Dynamite has been seen one this season in a hurdle event at Thurles when winning comfortably over 2m7f and that would have set him up perfectly for a crack at this event off 148.

David Noonan

Galahad Quest

J: David Noonan
T: Jane Williams
Age: 6
Weight: 10-3
OR: 131
Days: 35

At a bigger price and definitely a horse to play each way is the Jane Williams trained Galahad Quest that has been consistent of late and holds some strong form at this track last season.

A fairly decent record round Cheltenham running at jumps racing HQ five times, winning once over course and distance and placing in another event, whilst also posting a close fifth of 19 when seen in this race last season off a mark of 135.

Running in this event off 4lb lower on Saturday and having been very consistent in a lot of runs but slowly dropping down the handicap, he could put up another big effort.

His second on seasonal debut at Chepstow would have put him bang on for this and getting a bit more juice in the ground will only play to his strengths.

Mr R James

Lisnagar Oscar

J: Mr R James
T: Rebecca Curtis
Age: 9
Weight: 11-12
OR: 142
Days: 213

In the Paddy Power Games Handicap Hurdle over three miles we are giving a chance to Lisnagar Oscar who we think could bounce back to form at a big price.

A winner at the 2020 Cheltenham festival when taking the Grade One Stayers' Hurdle from Ronald Pump, hitting a top rating of 160 he has not been the same horse since.

Showing very little form over the last two seasons his best runs have come at Cheltenham when third last season in the Grade Two Cleeve Hurdle.

However, being pulled up on three of his last four runs his mark has now dropped to 142 which now makes him appealing and with this shrewd 7lb claimer Rob James takes off further weight which essentially sees him racing off 135 and off that mark over a course and distance he is proven on, he could just bounce back at a big price.

Nico de Boinville

J: Nico de Boinville
T: Nicky Henderson
Age: 6
Weight: 10-13
OR: 119
Days: 337

The Penultimate event of the afternoon at Cheltenham is the Intermediate Hurdle over 2m5f and a common theme of the day is dutching the race.

The first of the two selections in this race is the Nicky Henderson trained Wiseguy who is very unexposed and looks a fast improving type for a top yard.

Seen for the first time in January 2021 at Doncaster when winning a 12 runner bumper and managing to see off the talented Hillcrest.

Not so good at Fontwell when back in third behind a nice type in Datsalrightgino on hurdles debut, he got off the mark at the second time of asking at Doncaster stepped up to 3m 1/2f and revelling in the new trip.

Dropped to 2m5f at Cheltenham should be no problem as he looks the type who will get up the hill and with big potential on his shoulders he could turn out to be a very smart hurdler, especially off a mark of 119.

Potentially well in.

Cheltenham 15:30
Peter Carberry

J: Peter Carberry
T: A J Martin
Age: 5
Weight: 10-5
OR: 111
Days: 172

At a slightly bigger price and more of an unknown in the race is Irish raider Unanswered for Tony Martin who is another that could be better than his lowly mark of 111.

Running on the flat throughout the summer off extremely low marks he has been in good form in staying handicaps having four wins and two places in seven runs.

A horse that obviously has big potential over both codes, he showed what he can do over hurdles on his last run at Punchestown in May when landing a 19 runner Handicap off a mark of 89 by close to nine lengths.

Having his first run back over timber for 172 days on Saturday he looks an interesting runner and should be extremely fit having only ran on the flat 17 days ago.

Nico de Boinville

J: Nico de Boinville
T: Nicky Henderson
Age: 4
Weight: 11-4
Days: 245

The final event on the card is the Listed Mares' Bumper over 2m 1/2f and we have picked out two runners that could be potential stars this season.

The first is the Nicky Henderson trained Luccia who has a perfect record off the back of both of her bumper runs last season.

A winner at Warwick over 2m on soft in January beating smart performer Blow Your Wad, she then went to Sandown in March and improved again to bolt up by 17 lengths beating some extremely smart horses including a Willie Mullins record.

A horse with a huge future.

Cheltenham - November 12 2022
Cheltenham 16:05
Jonathan Burke

Queens Gamble

J: Jonathan Burke
T: Oliver Sherwood
Age: 4
Weight: 11-0
Days: 212

Another very interesting contender in the race is the Oliver Sherwood trained Queens Gamble who has massively impressive on bumper debut over course and distance in April.

Taking on 16 rivals including strong favourite Mullenbeg, the mare went on to power clear under hands and heels to win by 10 lengths.

A horse that could be anything is extremely interesting in this event now stepping into Listed company and a winner already at the track under similar conditions makes him one to watch.
