Keith Dalgleish’s runner has shaped with promise when hitting the frame on all four starts thus far, and although he is yet to taste success his more recent efforts have suggested this drop back to 6f could prove ideal.

Connections look to have found him a good opportunity to open his account and it would be disappointing should he not take advantage of it.

Philip Kirby
Age: 3
Weight: 9-4
OR: 70
Days: 91

Tommaso appears an interesting proposition on debut for Philip Kirby since making the switch from Stef Keniry.

The son of Bobby's Kitten was an impressive 3rd on debut on soft ground in May and subsequently backed that up with another keeping on run on firm ground at Wetherby next time out over 7f.

He's been unable to build on that early promise on his last 2 starts however has now switched yards and has been off the track for 91 days.

We're entitled to believe he's made progressions during his layoff and is quite possibly prepped for a big run now upped to the 10f trip.

The booking of top course jockey Ben Curtis catches the eye here who boasts an 18% win rate at the track this season.

Kirby clearly ensures Curtis is on the best of his runners given the trainers 30% strike rate and 60% place rate when teaming up with the talented jock.

Lucinda Russell
Age: 3
Weight: 9-6
OR: 62
Days: 134

Aone Ally shaped with real promise on handicap debut at Ayr in May, finishing 5th in a blanket finish over the intermediary 9f trip at Ayr, just fading in the final stages.

This will be Lucinda Russell's first time teaming up with Kevin Stott however she has made intentions clear via the booking given he rates as one of Ayr's top jockeys this season with a 17% strike rate.

Her son of Mayson has been given a 134 day break since his last run and is expected to have made progressions in that time.

He drops back to the 8f trip, should relish the soft ground and looks set for a big run.

Black Friday

R Mike Smith
Age: 6
Weight: 9-12
OR: 86
Days: 9

Black Friday can be considered somewhat of an Ayr specialist given his record here: 541241104.

The son of Equiano appreciates the testing conditions and has been competing at a significantly higher level of late, most recently finishing a mere 1.25 lengths 4th over 7f at the Scottish venue last time out.

Mike Smith's gelding was a winner over C&D 4 starts back in a class 3 handicap so makes plenty of appeal dropping back down to that 6f trip and into a class 4 contest.

He's turned out quickly in order to maintain that decent level of form and is given the boost of useful apprentice Andrew Breslin who offsets 5lbs at the weights.

Looks overpriced and should run well back on his suited terms.

Dianne Sayer
Age: 7
Weight: 9-8
OR: 68
Days: 25

Dianne Sayer is 2 from 5 at Ayr this season, 4 out of 5 placing; she has a decent 22% strike rate here across the last 5 seasons and a 55% place rate thanks to 20 of her 36 runners at the track finishing in the first 3 home.

Her runner Jackhammer boasts impressive form on the flat at Ayr:13222, and the return to the Scottish venue looks set to suit.

He's been running predominantly over 8-9f of late so its interesting to see him drop back to 7f over which he won as a maiden.

He runs off a 4lb lower mark than when placing 2nd at the track in a higher graded class 4 in May and soft ground is sure to suit.

Looks prepped for a big run.

Keith Dalgleish
Age: 8
Weight: 9-3
OR: 54
Days: 8

One Night In Milan represents Scotland based trainer Keith Dalgleish in the lucky last at Ayr and poses a real threat at the head of market proceedings.

The son of Milan has more than proven himself as a useful hurdler/chaser with wins at class 3 level and impressive runs up in class 2's.

He has since switched to the flat and ran a big race at Catterick last time out, finishing 2nd over 15.5f upon rain softened conditions.

He re-appears just 8 days later in order to maintain that level of form and runs off the exact same mark down at 13f.

Billy Garrity is a welcomed 3lb claimer on board and his weight allowance may just prove the key here in eeking out that final piece of improvement in order for One Night In Milan to land a race in this sphere.
