York Saturday Preview - 27/07/19

14:05 - Medahim

Medahim is our selection in the "Get Knotted" Handicap and in this race that is named after the favourite we have gone against him.

Medahim for trainer Ivan Furtado looks a very interesting character now getting back to a dangerous mark for his new yard and with Daniel Tudhope on board anything is possible.

The gelding will have to progress from his latest run but now back to the same handicap mark as the last time he won, which came at Glorious Goodwood he is one to watch.

14:40 - Savalas

One of the most unpredictable races of the day in Britain is the Sky Bet Dash Handicap over six furlongs, but we have gone with the Kevin Ryan trained Savalas.

He bounced back to form last time out when down in trip to five furlongs finishing a good second in a Class 2 at Newmarket and stepping back up six furlongs makes him a player.

He will have to overcome his poor runs in big field but he is down to a nice mark that he should be handy on.

15:15 - Regal Reality

The big race of the day on the Knavesmire is the Group 2 York Stakes and Regal Reality for trainer Sir Michael Stoute is hard to oppose after his last run.

The Cheveley Park Stud owned four year old gave a career best when third behind Enable in the Group 1 Coral Eclipse last time out.

If he can come on for that form going over slightly further he will be tough to beat and before that third he took a nice Group 3 at Sandown.

16:20 - Orin Swift

Another Handicap and this time over the marathon trip of two miles sees us select Jonathan Portman's Orin Swift who looks to be a serious contender if on song.

He has raced to a good standard this season winning on his seasonal debut and then finishing second in his next two races in behind some smart horses.

Last time out needs to be brushed a side and if he can get back to his best he is a real player over a trip he has gave his best performances over and he won't mind a splash of rain.

14:55 - Nette Rousse

Our final tip of the day from York sees a decent Fillies Handicap over 1 mile 2 furlongs and Nette Rousse for trainer Ralph Beckett looks a bright filly.

The three year old has only raced three times in her career, Starting her campaign off at Nottingham in soft ground which she didn't take to.

Her last two runs have showed the real potential she holds finishing third and winning on her latest start at Sandown in a Class 4 and if being progressive can be in the mix again.
