Who To Follow At York On Day One Of The Dante Meeting

Horse To Follow - Teona

The feature event on day one of the meeting is the Group Three Musidora Stakes and the Roger Varian trained Teona could be a class above the field.

The daughter of Sea The Stars has been seen twice to date, finishing second on debut over a mile at Newcastle in October and when stepped up in trip a month later got off the mark in taking style.

The step up to 1m2f was the making of this horse as she dominated a decent field by nine lengths and now making her turf debut, she could well and truly stake her claim for the Oaks next month.

A horse with bags of potential and now she just needs to show it on the big stage.

Trainer To Follow - John & Thady Gosden

John & Thady Gosden have some big chances on the first day of the Dante meeting, with some nice runners in the group events, but better shouts in the Handicaps.

In the first race of the day they field the improving Taqareer who needs to reverse the form with the favourite, but is getting weight off him.

Another nice runner on the day for the yard is Rifleman in the Class 3 Handicap and having unfortunately unseated his rider last time when challenging for the lead, with blinkers on this time he should be more focused.

In the last 12 months the stable have had three winners and a place from 17 runners at the track and that sees them carry a 17.65% strike rate.

Jockey To Follow - Ryan Moore

Ryan Moore has been a man in the money of late, landing winners in Ireland the UK and he heads into the three days at York with a nice win rate.

Moore starts the day on the favourite My Frankel who has won three of his five events to date and if coping with top weight looks a big player.

Other big chances for the experienced rider on Wednesday are Oxted in the Group Two Duke Of York Stakes and Hint Of Stars in the finale.

The rider has been in flying form landing a four timer at Leoaprdstown on Sunday and that has helped towards having 14 winners from his last 48 rides, which sees him pose a 29.17% win rate.
