Who To Follow At Thurles On Wednesday

Horse To Follow - Eurotiep

Willie Mullins' Eurotiep is our horse to follow in the two mile maiden hurdle and although harbouring a penalty could just be a class above this field.

The seven year old makes his hurdles debut in this event having run in four bumpers and not finished outside the top two in any of them.

Having finished second in September 2019, he made his seasonal reappearance at Fairyhouse and again had to settle for runner up.

He finally got off the mark next time out at Punchestown in a dominating display and last time out at Leopardstown over Christmas he was a superb second to the smart and expensive Hollow Games for Gordon Elliott.

If taking to hurdles straight away he is a leading player in what looks a weak contest.

Trainer To Follow - Willie Mullins

Willie Mullins is set to keep his strong form so far this season going on Sunday with some big live chances at Thurles, in both the graded events and some other minor contests.

In the Grade Two Mares Novice Chase he fields Colreevy who sits at the top of the market and if backing up her Grade One win last time out should not be beat.

In the Grade Two Horse & Jockey Chase over 2m4f Mullins fields four of the seven runners with market leader Allaho joined by Easy Game, Annamix and Elimay.

Two of his other big chances on the day comes in the madien events with Fighter Allen and Eurotiep looking to find the winning formula over hurdles.

Mullins has been flying over the last 14 days having seven winners from just 22 runners which sees him pose a win rate of 31.82%.

Jockey To Follow - Robbie Power

Finally, the jockey we fancy to have a smart day on Sunday is the Legendary Grand National and Gold Cup winning rider Robbie Power, who has now moved back over to Ireland to ride.

On Sunday he has picked up some nice rides including Gentlemansgame in the Novice Hurdle who is going up seven furlongs but won last time out by 21 lengths.

In the handicap chase he sits on R'Evelyn Pleasure for Sean O'Brien and we believe he has a big chance on that horse with it being weighted to go well.

Robbie Power heads into the weekend in some good form over the last fortnight having two winners from 11 rides which sees him pose a 18.18% strike rate.
