The penultimate selection of the afternoon in Dubai comes in the feature Group Two Al Rashidiya over 1m1f and we are siding with the trusty Lord Glitters for David O'Meara.

Lord Glitters has been a superstar for the yard over the years landing multiple Group One events and even at the of nine is still putting in high class performances.

Winning a Group One over course and distance in March last year he is a natural at this track, coming from off the pace.

After that the gelding was seen five times in England chasing home Palace Pier in the Group One Lockinge Stakes and Queen Anne Stakes, finishing fourth both times.

A step down to a Group Three had him only beaten by a quickly improving Saeed Bin Suroor runner in Real World and that form is fairly decent.

He then put in two lesser runs at Haydock in the Superior Mile and Queen Elizabeth II Stakes, with the latter event seeing to many special talents to compete with.

Given a month off he returned in the Bahrain International at Sakhir and sat huge odds went on to take the event from Barney Roy, with a superb late sweeping run.

Although he does bring some negatives with his age, he loves this trip, track and is mostly consistent, especially at this grade.

Trainer To Follow - Charlie Appleby

Charlie Appleby mad a good start to life in Meydan last week and it would not be a surprise to see him dominate again on Friday.

In the first event of the afternoon he fields Silent Speech who is the rightful market leader having won well at Wolves last time out.

In the Jumeriah Derby Trial he also has a great chance with New Kingdom, who was also a nice winner last time out at Haydock.

Other nice types for the yard at Albahr in the UAE 2000 Guineas Trial, Art Du Val in the Al Rashidiya, La Barrosa and Naval Crown in the Al Fahidi Fort and finally Rebel's Romance in the last event of the day.

Appleby heads into the meeting in electric form managing to land six winners from his last 15 runners which sees him pose a 40% strike rate for the last fortnight.

Jockey To Follow - Frankie Dettori

Leading rider in the sport Frankie Dettori has managed to pick up some nice rides in Meydan on Friday and with that in mind is our jockey to follow.

In the opener, Dettori sits on Home City who looks a big improver for Saeed bin Suroor moving back down in trip to six furlongs where he has looked his best.

Another nice chance for the rider comes in the next event where the potentially smart Island Falcon is looking to make it back to back wins on his Meydan debut.

In the feature event of the afternoon, the Italian gets the leg up on Cambridgeshire winner Bedouin's Story, who now has the chance to mix it at this level.
