Trainer Jim Goldie on Saturday is looking to have a winner on the all weather at Lingfield, sending just one runner to the East Sussex based track on the day, which sees the handler make a monumental 874 mile round trip.
When we see trainers coming such a long way to just run the one horse we like to highlight it, as we believe they would not be coming all that way if it did not have a real chance.
Jim Goldie has come along way from Scotland to race this horse today and Water Leith looks to have the stand out chance in the six furlong event.
Having finished sixth of seven runners on debut back in July he was since gelded and he has not looked back winning both of his events since.
Both of those wins came in December at Wolverhampton and stepping up for his handicap debut today he is a big player.
Jim Goldie has a superb record when bringing his horses this far with six winners from 56 runners during his career which sees him pose a 11% strike rate.
