Throwback Race Of The Day - 31/03/20

Sea Of Class

Today we are looking through the flat racing calendars of the last few years and the race that has caught our eye and certainly worth watching again is the Irish Oaks in 2018.

In the last few years British raiders heading over to the Curragh fro this Group One have a decent record but the horse that provided one of the best performances in the contest is Sea Of Class for trainer William Haggas.

The son of Sea The Stars, who unfortunately passed away as a four year old due to colic, gave one of her best ever performances in the Irish Oaks on what was her first step up to black type company and 1 mile 4f.

The Irish held a strong hand in the race and with Sea Of Class being the only raider it was not going to be easy but the horsemanship for James Doyle and turn of pace from the mare made one of the best renewals of the contest.

Enjoy.
