Three Standout Performers - 23/10/2018

1:45 Chablis

A full sister to The Pentagon and a daughter of Galileo, Chablis got off the mark at the first time of asking.

Costing connections 1.5 million Guineas, she is definitely the type I’m sure we will hear a lot more about in the future. Found the gap a furlong out and was pushed out under hands and heels by Wayne Lordan. Comfortably.

2:00 Frankellina

Another to win on debut was this daughter of Frankel - named Frankellina, in the hands of Harry Bentley.

Beautifully bred, out of a 1m-1m4f winning dam, she took a keen hold early on. Once settled, was shaken up and ran on well to lead final strides. Another name to remember.

2:20 Still Believing

In this three horse race, it was soon a match between Still Believing and Beau Du Brizais in this Happy Birthday Matthew Johnson Handicap Chase.

Still Believing tracked the leader who set the pace, with Adam Wedge - who has had a few mishaps at Exeter in the past, timing his ride to perfection to win driven out.
