A trainer on Wednesday is looking to have a winner at Ayr on the flat, sending just one runner to the Scottish based track on the day, which sees the handler make a 718 mile round trip.
When we see trainers coming such a long way to just run the one horse we like to highlight it, as we believe they would not be coming all that way if it did not have a real chance.
Trainer William Haggas loves bringing his horses this far currently running at a strike rate of 39% during his career having had 34 winners from just 88 runners.
Haggas is one of the most inform trainers in the sport at the moment, running at a 44% strike rate for the last two weeks with 16 winners from 36 runners.
With that, Haggas also has a superb record at Ayr over the last year sending 12 horses to the Scottish track and landing six winners, which sees him pose a 50% strike rate at the track.
Tom Marquand will ride My Astra and he has a 60% strike rate at Ayr this season winning three of his five races and when teaming up with Haggas this season the pair have a combined 75% strike rate.
