Newcastle host a decent card on the all weather on Thursday afternoon and there has been some big money come for one of the horses in the Class 5 Handicap Hurdle over two miles.
Burdigala for trainer Micky Hammond has undergone a massive gamble in the hurdling contest being a decent price of 25/1 at the start of the day and now is as short as 6/1 with some bookmakers.
The seven year old gelding has shown little to no form on his four runs this season, not being placed in any of his events and also being pulled up two starts ago.
This what makes the gamble extremely interesting, with the gelding showing very little in terms of giving punters form to go off, but has been supported anyway.
Punters involved in the gamble obviously believe this is well below the mark he is capable of running at, with his handicap rating dropping all year round.
