ITV Racing Tips for Today - Sunday 25th October

ITV racing are live on ITV1 from three courses on Sunday 26th October. Featuring the Old Roan at Aintree and two races from each of Fontwell and Galway. We've gone through all the live televised races for the afternoon and picked out our tips and selections for the day.

Torn And Frayed 5/2

It’s hard to not like the chances of Torn And Frayed at the top of the market for this vetreran’s race off the back of his 3rd in a similar contest at Chepstow off the back of a long break.

The Twiston-Davies yard have been in good form so far this season and a mark of 128 leaves him look well treated in this company.

Vaureal 6/1

Has some alright form in the books between hurdles and fences, Vaureal shaped better off the back of his first run of the season over fences here over too short a trip.

Back up in distance now and off an unchanged mark, he can go well again for Keith Donoghue.

Jimmy Hurdstrom 5/1

Was in decent form in bumpers last season and can be forgiven for a bit of a lacklustre effort at Fontwell on seasonal comeback and hurdles debut last time out when 2nd.

Will be sharper for that effort and will appreciate the decent underfoot conditions.

Bal Kauto 7/4

Has seemingly turned a major corner and become rapidly progressive over both hurdles and fences, racking up a hat-trick of wins in both disciplines since switched to staying races.

Can prove better still than a mark of 117. Carrying a feather weight, there’s likely more progression to come.

Minella Drama 15/2

I’ve come down on the side of Minella Drama to win back to back renewals of the Old Roan as he looks a shade overpriced for the Aintree show piece.

A winner last year against a small field, it doesn’t look a strong renewal. Master Chewy might not stay Imperial Saint might not be fit, Hitman doesn’t win races and Ahoy Senor is on the decline. Minella Drama looks the safest option.

Serious Challenge 5/2

Fergal O’Brien’s yard have won the last three renewals of this race so it makes sense to pay attention to what he’s sending out this year and his representative in Serious Challenge looks to have a good chance.

A winner twice over hurdles last season, he shaped well in the Novice hurdle final at Sandown to be 4th over 2 miles and will appreciate this step back up in trip. Can prove better than a mark of 128 if fully primed.
