Karl Burke has one in this York contest with his filly Novakai. The three-year-old has made a good start to her career, winning on debut at Doncaster before stepping into strong company on just her second outing. She was fifth in the Solera Stakes at Newmarket last August before back-to-back runner-up finishes at Doncaster (Group Two May Hill Stakes) and Newmarket (Group One Fillies’ Mile).

She arrives with a lot of promise and progression in her career so far and she makes plenty of appeal back down in company after that good run in the Fillies’ Mile at Newmarket. Has been off the track since but she should be right there in with a chance of winning this.

Richard Fahey sends one here with his 104-rated Midnight Mile. The filly has impressed so far, winning two out of her first three career starts at Doncaster and Newmarket, which brought group three success over seven furlongs. She wasn’t disgraced when finishing fourth in the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies Turf at Keeneland in November and the step up to 1m 2f should be no issue too.

Will be up against some other top prospects here in group three company, but she cannot be ruled out on her showing so far.

Aiden O’Brien sends one of his runners to York on Wednesday for the Musidora Stakes in the form of Lambada. She has had three runs in her career so far, enjoying the step up to 1m 1f at Gowran Park most recently to win 13-runner maiden after finishing last of 14 at Punchestown and third at Leopardstown, both over seven furlongs.

This requires a lot more improvement, but it would be tough to rule out this runner for a top trainer. Ryan Moore does the steering on the three-year-old.

Andrew Balding boasts one of his runners in the Musidora Stakes at York on Wednesday with Sea Of Roses. The three-year-old arrives here with a lot of promise, finishing second on debut at Ffos as in September last year behind Arrest before edging out Infinite Cosmos to win class five Doncaster maiden a month later.

She finished second on her first experience of grouped company in Group Three Penelope Stakes at Saint-Cloud last month when priced at 18/1 and further improvement could be on the cards here. Oisin Murphy does the steering on the promising three-year-old who looks at home in this sort of company.

John and Thady Gosden send their lightly raced filly Soul Sister to the Musidora Stakes at York on Wednesday, after they won last year’s renewal with Emily Upjohn. This three-year-old has had two contrasting runs so far, winning well on debut at Doncaster in October before finishing last of 12 in Group Three Dubai Duty Free Stakes at Newbury last month, when priced at 6/1.

She has a lot to find here if the Gosden’s are to win this for the second year running. Frankie Dettori is booked to ride the three-year-old here.

Infinite Cosmos

Sir Michael Stoute sends one of his runners to the Musidora Stakes at York on Wednesday with three-year-old Infinite Cosmos. The filly has had two runs in her career so far, finishing a narrow second on debut to Sea Of Roses by a short head at Doncaster last October before winning eight-runner class three at Newmarket earlier this month by over four lengths in an emphatic success.

Steps into grouped company on her third start here and currently holds market favouritism. Exciting prospect who should have more to offer and she could claim grouped success for the first time. Richard Kingscote does the steering.

Empress Wu

Age: 3
Weight: 9-2
OR: N/A

David Simcock sends one of his runners to this York contest with one of the market outsiders Empress Wu. The three-year-old arrives here on the back of a two-length win at Lingfield in November, beating Silver Sword to claim class five 1m 2f maiden stakes. Proved she has talent there, but this may be a tough ask on just her second appearance for Simcock here.

Jim Crowley will again do the steering here but it is tough to predict her chances in grouped company without her running above class five level so far in her career.

Age: 3
Weight: 9-2
OR: N/A
Days: 26

Jack Channon sends one to the Musidora Stakes at York on Wednesday with Gather Ye Rosebuds. The three-year-old filly arrives here on the back of her debut at Newbury last month. 16 runners went to post for a 1m 2f class four maiden, with this three-year-old coming out on top by just under ten lengths in an impressive success when priced at 33/1.

No surprises here where she is sent up in company after that comfortable win and she could make a challenge for victory if continuing improvement. Jamie Spencer will ride here.
