Gordon Elliott Sends Two Horses To Wolverhampton On The All Weather

17:15 Wolverhampton - Markhan

Gordon Elliott is known a one of the leading National Hunt trainers in the sport but tomorrow sends two horses to Wolverhampton on the all weather that truly makes for some interesting reading with both of them being saddled by Jamie Spencer.

The first horse to run tomorrow comes in the Class 4 Betway Stayers Handicap over 2 miles 1/2 furlongs and Markhan looks a very interesting character for the Irish trainer.

Elliott has only ever had two runners at Wolverhampton, not having much luck on both occasions but could turn the tables with this six year old who has shown from previous runs at Dundalk and on his hurdles runs that he can stay 2 miles.

He has been running over slightly shorter on the all weather in Ireland of late and has put in some could performances having figures of 231 in his last three runs.

If handling the Tapeta surface tomorrow and the step back up in trip it could see him really challenge close in the contest.

20:15 Wolverhampton - Counting Sheep

The last of Elliott's double at Wolves tomorrow comes in the last race of the day the Ladbrokes Home Of The Odds Boost Novice Stakes over 1 mile 1/2 furlong and Counting Sheep looks a promising three year old for the yard.

This out of the two tomorrow looks his best shout of a winner with the gelding only having two starts to date over in Ireland both coming on turf and his latest outing giving him a nice form line.

Last time out he finished a good second at Thurles over a mile only finishing second behind what looks like a smart recruit from Aidan O'Brien's yard and if improving from that run he could well feature here.

Elliott would not be bringing these horses over if he didn't think they had genuine chances, there must be some thinking behind this madness and we believe we have highlighted this.
