The first runner on the final day of the July Cup meeting from us comes in the Class 2 Handicap over seven furlongs and Kidwah will take all the beating.

The three year old filly cost 220,000gns as a foal and has gone on to be seen twice to good effect in her career, winning both of her events over 6f.

Making her debut in November on soft ground at Doncaster she landed a Maiden Stakes with ease and then on her first run this term went on to make it back to back wins, this time on good ground at Redcar.

Winning by nearly five lengths that day she now makes her handicap debut off a mark of 88 and she looks to have more in the tank on this mark.

One of the bets of the day.

Positive Impact

Next up is the bet365 Handicap over a mile and the horse that takes the eye is the Simon & Ed Crisford trained Positive Impact.

Seen four times in his career with all of his runs coming this season as a three year old, he made his debut at Thirsk over a mile when a decent third of 14 and then backed that up with another placed effort at Leciester.

Back at Thirsk in June he bumped into another nice one when going down by a short head to Bay Of Honour, but last time out in just a two runner event got off the mark in emphatic style.

Making his handicap debut this afternoon off a mark of 86, this the sphere he will thrive him and meeting Bay Of Honour now on similar terms, at a bigger price he is the one worth backing.

One of the big events of the afternoon is the Group Two Superlative Stakes and disappointingly this year only sees five runners go to post.

However it sees another strong selection from ourselves with Victory Dance for the Charlie Appleby stable looking a solid contender to take the race.

Making his debut over course and distance in the middle of June at Newmarket the 700,000gns son of Dubawi got off the mark seeing off a nice type for a John & Thady Gosden by a head.

The yard obviously thinks this lad is a bit special with Buick missing the Belmont Derby and Oaks to ride at Newmarket and also before the 48 decs stage they had another nice type primed to run but pulled him out in favour of Victory Dance.

That speaks volumes and having won three of the last four renewals of this race with the likes of Quorto, Master Of The Seas and Native Trail, he could be Godolphin's next big prodigy.

One of the trickiest events on the card is the bet365 Bunbury Cup over seven furlongs and with 20 runners going to post we have picked out two each way selections.

The first is the John & Thady Gosden trained Samburu who has not done much wrong in his career to date and still on a mark of 97 could go on to be a better horse.

The son of Kingman scored on his sole juvenile run at Yarmouth over seven furlongs and was then put away for this term.

Making his seasonal debut at Salisbury over 7f, he made it 2/2 on extremely quick ground in a Novice Stakes and then seeking a hat-trick at York on Handicap debut he got the job done again.

Going up 9lb for his efforts he was last seen running a cracker to finish sixth in the Group Three Jersey Stakes and now back into handicap company off the same mark can't be ruled out with the yard in flying form.

Jack Mitchell

The Attorney

T: Charles Hills
Age: 4
Weight: 8-10
OR: 94
Days: 14

At a slightly bigger price is the Charlie Hills trained The Attorney who has always been a horse that we have been fond of and we think this could have been the target for a long time.

A smart horse last term winning at Lingfield off a mark of 78 over 7f, he has been seen five more times since then in Class 3 and 2 Handicap events, finishing second in all but one of them.

Now up to a mark of 94 his last two runs at Goodwood and Newcastle have seen him back to his best and getting his ideal fast conditions he can't be ruled out at a price.

Perfect Power

J: Christophe Soumillon
T: Richard Fahey
Age: 3
Weight: 9-2
OR: 117
Days: 22

The final event of the afternoon is the feature race of the afternoon the Group One July Cup Stakes over six furlongs and with 14 going to post we have a win and each way selection.

The win selection is the Richard Fahey trained Perfect Power who is arguably the best sprinter in the game at the moment and it is going to take a special performance to beat him.

He was a superb two year old winning four of his six events including the Group Two Norfolk Stakes at last year's royal meeting, his first Group One in France in the Prix Morny and rounding off last term at Newmarket over 6f when taking the Middle Park Stakes.

This season his handler believed he would get further with the first part of his season setting him up for a crack at the 2000 Guineas.

He made his seasonal debut in the 7f Group Three Greenham Stakes at Newbury when seeing off a good field and not looking to have some stamina doubts.

However, stepped up to a mile he could only finish seventh of 15, not getting the trip but showing clear pace early on to make you think the drop back to 6f is where he is at his best.

The trainer was proved right to bring him back to his optimum trip last time out when going on to land the Group One Commonwealth Cup at Royal Ascot.

It was a superb performance and having seen off many of these in the field in the past, he looks solid once more.

Creative Force

J: William Buick
T: Charlie Appleby
Age: 4
Weight: 9-8
OR: 118
Days: 21

With extra places sure to be on offer with some bookmakers, Creative Force around the 6/1 mark looks a solid player to hit the frame.

The Charlie Appleby trained gelding has been a very progressive horse over the last two years or so, from winning four straight races at the start of last season including the Group Three Jersey Stakes at Royal Ascot, to then mixing it with the big boys of Britain's sprinting division.

After winning the 18 runner event at the royal meeting he then finished a solid fifth of 19 in this Group One event last term.

He backed that up at Glorious Goodwood when a narrow second to mud lover Kinross over seven furlongs on soft ground in the Lennox Stakes.

Back over six furlongs on quicker ground he could only manage sixth in the Group One Sprint Cup at Haydock, but bounced back in a big way when at Ascot on British Champions Day, landing the Group One Champion Sprint Stakes.

Seen twice this term, he returned at Meydan on Dubai World Cup night in the Group One Al Quoz Sprint and ran no race but bounced back to form last time out at Royal Ascot when going down by a neck to stablemate Naval Crown in the G1 Platinum Jubilee Stakes.

He holds leading Group One form heading into the race and can't be underestimated.
