A trainer on Saturday is looking to have a winner at Newcastle over the jumps, sending just one runner to the northern based track on the day, which sees the handler make a 502 mile round trip.
When we see trainers coming such a long way to just run the one horse we like to highlight it, as we believe they would not be coming all that way if it did not have a real chance.
The trainer in question is Nigel Twiston-Davies who is in flying form of late, boasting a 38% strike rate across the last 14 days (11 - 29); the trainer holds a respectable 18% strike rate with horses travelling at least this distance.
His representative in the race, Good Boy Bobby, relished the switch back to chasing last time out on the back of a 6 month break, winning a 2m 3f listed contest at Wetherby.
He is now raised to the 2m 7f trip, which based on the manner he kept on in his recent run he should relish and possibly improve for.
He's only been raised 3lbs for his recent win, should strip fitter with that comeback run under his belt and appears to be in great order with the yard firing on all cylinders.
Daryl Jacob, in similarly tremendous form (24% S/R last 14 days), is retained in the saddle.
