A trainer on Thursday is looking to have a winner at York on the flat, sending just one runner to the Yorkshire based track on the day, which sees the handler make a 404 mile round trip.

When we see trainers coming such a long way to just run the one horse we like to highlight it, as we believe they would not be coming all that way if it did not have a real chance.

Trainer Dominic Ffrench Davis loves bringing his horses this far currently running at a strike rate of 10% during his career having had two winners from 21 runners.

Finishing second at Newmarket on debut behind a nice type on debut for James Tate in Blue Storm with sire Blue Point making an excellent start to the season, Cuban Thunder ran on well to finish just over a length behind the winner.

The third that day was Hackman for Hugo Palmer who has since come out at Chester and bolted up 5f Maiden and that looks to be the best form on offer.
