1000 Guineas Guide

1. Angel's Hideaway

Trainer - John Gosden

Jockey - Robert Havlin

This three year old filly will have to step her game up a hell of a lot to take this after putting in some less than impressive performances at the back end of last season and on her seasonal debut.

She did win a Group 3 at Ascot in July beating some smart horses and if finding that form may be able to get in the placings but has been a difficult horse to follow in the past.

2. Dandhu

Trainer - David Elsworth

Jockey - Gerald Mosse

A smart filly who was really consistent towards the back end of last season when finishing a good second at Newmarket in a Group 2 behind Just Wonderful.

She backed that up on her seasonal debut when scoring in the Dubai Duty Free Stakes at Newbury which looks good form heading into this contest and is certainly in with a shout.

3. Fairyland

Trainer - Aidan O'Brien

Jockey - Frankie Dettori

Our fancy for the race and the first of Aidan O'Brien's onslaught on the race is Fairyland. she was a class act as a two year old winning four out of her five races.

Her best performance came on her last run at Newmarket when getting up late in the day to in the Group 1 Cheveley Park Stakes. There are stamina questions but has a live chance on Sunday.

4. Fleeting

Trainer - Aidan O'Brien

Jockey - Seamie Heffernan

The next O'Brien three year old is Fleeting who is the biggest odds of the Ballydoyle team in this Group 1 and she holds every chance ending the season nicely at Doncoster landing a Group 2 contest.

She beat Star Terms that day who is also in the race and you have to watch out for Aidan O'Brien's outsiders in races like this as they usually pop up in the placings.

5. Garrel Glen

Trainer - Mark H Tomkins

Jockey - J F Egan

The true outsider of the field is Garrel Glen who is stepping into the unknown with Group 1 company after having two starts in her career in Class 4 and 5 races.

He landed his latest race over seven furlongs at this track in a Class 4 but looks as if this race has come to soon for her and is easily opposable.

6. Hermosa

Trainer - Aidan O'Brien

Jockey - Wayne Lordan

Another O'Brien three year old for a third different owner and Hermosa is a smart filly who has ran well in defeat in Group 1 contests and is not out of sorts here.

She was a smart second behind Iridessa in the bet365 Fillies Mile over course and distance and then was also runner up in Chantilly behind a smart horse.

Holds a competitive frame chance if being fresh on her seasonal debut.

7. Iconic Choice

Trainer - Tom Dascombe

Jockey - Richard Kingscote

The only runner in the race for trainer tom Dascombe and this filly holds an each way chance after two wins at the back end of last season at Ayr and and a Listed contest at Newbury.

She made a smart return to racing this season when in behind Dandhu at Newbury in the Fred Darling Stakes and if coming on again for that run has definite frame shouts.

8. Iridessa

Trainer - Joseph O'Brien

Jockey - Donnacha O'Brien

This Joseph O'Brien trained filly pulled off somewhat of a shock in the bet365 Fillies Mile back in September to land the Group 1 contest.

She made an encouraging comeback when third last month at Leopardstown in a fair event and her trainer has her primed for a good run in this sphere .

Every Chance.

9. Just Wonderful

Trainer - Aidan O'Brien

Jockey - Ryan Moore

The final runner for Aidan O'Brien looks to be his best chance in the race from a jockey booking perspective with Ryan Moore choosing this filly.

She won nicely here in September in Group 2 company beating some of her rivals she will be facing on Sunday, certain chance and could have a smart season.

10. Lady Kaya

Trainer - Sheila Lavery

Jockey - Robbie Colgan

This three year old is very much an unknown entity over a mile with her best runs coming over six and seven furlongs and sometimes at that trip has struggled.

She made a nice return to the track in April at Leopardstown but her stamina questions are a worry and will have to had come on for that run to be involved.

11. Look Around

Trainer - Andrew Balding

Jockey - Oisin Murphy

Andrew Balding's runner has been hit and miss in her career to date winning some nice races but also putting in some underwhelming perfromances.

She finished a nice fourth on her first run of this season behind Qabala in the trial but stepping up in trip she will need to run a blinder in this tougher event.

12. Mot Juste

Trainer - Roger Varian

Jockey - William Buick

Roger Varian has two chances in this contest and probably his second string in the pack is Mot Juste. She was really smart towards the back end of last season to suggest as three year old she could be better.

She finished a good second on her seasonal debut behind stablemate Qabala and it would not be a surprise if she finished the race strong.

13. Qabala

Trainer - Roger Varian

Jockey - David Egan

The stand alone favourite and final runner for the inform Roger Varian is Qabala who was very impressive last time out beating may of these runner at this track.

She has only raced twice in her career and is still currently unbeaten, holds a great chance to land the hat-trick but this is her toughest test to date and will have to come on again.

One to beat in the market.

14. Skitter Scatter

Trainer - John Oxx

Jockey - Ronan Whelan

The second favourite in the betting and another Irish raider is the exciting Skitter Scatter who is very highly thought of by her connections and you can see why being unbeaten in her last three races.

She landed the Group 1 Moyglare Stud Stakes at the back end of last season and that form reads very well, anything similar to that performance will see her go close here.

15. Star Terms

Trainer - Richard Hannon

Jockey - James Doyle

The final runner in the 2019 1000 Guineas is the Richard Hannon trained Star Terms who has ran well in defeat during her career but might just find a few too good in this race.

Hannon landed this contest last season with an outsider and if the race went down the same route this season it would be another shock.
