Dundalk Preview

13:30 - Casa Romano 33/1

With Coronavirus wiping out all racing in Britain, Ireland have come to the rescue and Dundalk host an eight race card behind closed doors.

In the first race of the day it sees a Apprentice Handicap over a mile and Casa Romano at a huge price stands out to us at great value.

The Patrick Flynn trained four year looks an interesting prospect having ran for the first time since August, last Friday and although finishing down the field he should come on for that run.

He will be fitter and sharper back at Dundalk again and stepping up slightly in trip has seen him produce his best runs to date.

14:00 - Aerclub

Next up is a Maiden Auction contest over a mile and Henry De Bromhead teams up with Wayne Lordan on board Aerclub who is looking to stay unbeaten.

The three year old colt has only raced once during his career and over course and distance at Dundalk he got off the mark in fine style.

That run suggested that there was still plenty more to come from the youngster and although top weight should take all the beating in this field.

14:30 - Tony The Gent

The seven furlong Claiming Race sees a mixed bag of potential take to the all weather at Dundalk with the two horses at the top of the weights looking likely to be the ones to beat.

The gelding that we like is the top weighted Tony the Gent for Denis Hogan who is no stranger to having winners at this track and has previously done so with this horse.

The seven year old is a course and distance winner three starts ago and when dropping down in trip last time out still finished a nice second.

Going back up in trip to his ideal distance should be the making of him.

15:00 - Juliet Rose

Juliet Rose goes for us in the next contest which sees another Maiden but this time over further and the filly for Joseph O'Brien looks the pick of the bunch on form.

She has only raced twice in her career finishing a less than impressive eighth on debut but on her second start over course and distance she showed her true talent.

The daughter of Camelot was a bold second in a hot affair and she should come on for that experience in what looks to be another decently run race.

15:30 - Followme Followyou

A Handicap over 10.5 furlongs is a race that you need find a horse that is on a very shrewd mark and we believe we have done with Followme Followyou.

The four year old filly has race three times this year being in and around the frame on all her outings, finishing fourth twice and superb second last time out.

Her last two runs came over course and distance and her second placed finish last time out was very eye-catching and now only three pounds heavier should see her still go well.

16:00 - Muzbid

We are looking for a quick-fire double for the outstanding Colin Keane as his mount Muzbid will take all the beating in the 1 mile 4 furlong handicap.

Since November this gelding has ran six times at Dundalk across different distances but has proved how consistent he is with four places and one of them was a win.

He won on his first go at 12 furlongs and although not being as good on his last two starts he is worth taking another chance on.

16:30 - Red Cymbal

The penultimate race of the evening at Dundalk that is set to be well watched across the world is a sis furlong handicap and Red Cymbal is our selection.

The Anthony McCann trained gelding loves racing at Dundalk and since the turn of the year has ran six times, being consistent in the majority of them.

He has four places overall winning one race and having mixed between five and six furlongs he now steps up to his preferred trip that should see him go well once more.

17:00 - Lequinto

The final event of the night is another six furlong affair in handicap company and Lequinto will look to round off a good night for us and jockey Wayne Lordan.

The Daniel O'Sullivan trained gelding has raced once this season and finished a bright third of 13 over course and distance.

This will be only his third run at six furlongs at he looks to bring the best out of him with him not lacking any speed and could just hold bags of potential at this level.
