Chester Saturday Preview - 15/06/19

14:10 - Mrs Bouquet

The first horse of the day from the tricky track at Chester sees the Class 4 Median Auction Stakes over six furlongs and we have sided with Mrs Bouquet.

This Mark Johnston trained juvenile has only had one start to date and she went on to beat male opponents on the all weather at Newcastle.

She will certainly come on for that run looking like she is a progressive filly and with the master jockey at Chester in Franny Norton on board she could go well.

14:40 - Gravistas

We are looking to get a quick-fire double in the first two races for Mark Johnston and Franny Norton as we have selected Gravistas to take the Class 2 Handicap.

This three year old has been very progressive throughout his career finishing runner up four times in this sort of events over this trip of 1 mile four furlongs.

Last time out he broke the spell of seconds to land a nice contest at Newmarket and if handling the soft ground has a real chance of doubling up with a nice handy draw.

15:10 - Bell Heather

It wouldn;t be a meeting at Chester without a Dr Marwan Koukash horse in the field and we have chosen Bell Heather to go on and win the Class 4 Handicap over 7 1/2 furlongs.

This Patrick Morris trained six year old has been waiting for soft ground after winning nicely two starts ago on the all weather but winning a nice race at Haydock last time out in soft conditions.

That came over a mile and although the trip is a slightly shorter the mare should give a good account of herself and continue with her good form.

15:45 - She Can Boogie

The Class 3 Marylebone Gin Handicap is the next race on the agenda and in this five furlong Handicap contest we have gone for the Tom Dascombe trained She Can Boogie.

This three year old filly looks to have a strong chance with conditions going her way but she will have to overcome the her stall and if getting across from the break she will take some beating.

This season she has ran twice finishing a good third in a Class two on her seasonal return and then latest when winning nicely over course on distance on heavy ground, the one to beat in our eyes.

16:20 - Bit Of A Quirke

Next up is the Class 4 Handicap over 1 mile 2 furlongs and we have gone for the Mark Walford trained Bit Of A Quirke to land the contest.

This six year old gelding has been in some fairly consistent from of late with some nice place finishes and with conditions that he can handle he could land a contest for the first time this year.

He has been knocking on the in similar sort of events to this but his second last time out looks a nice bit of form heading into this race.

16:55 - Turanga Leela

The John Mackie trained Turanga Leela will take some beating in the Liverpool Gin Class 4 Handicap over six furlongs after performing so well recently.

The mare in her last five runs has finished first twice, was poor on her hat-trick bid but has been brilliant since then with two unlucky seconds.

She is a course and distance winner and from her previous runs in soft conditions it looks as if she will handle the soft ground which makes her a live player.

17:30 - Heart Of Soul

The final selection of the day from Chester comes in the Class 4 Handicap over 1 mile 4 furlongs and we have sided with the Ian Williams trained Heart Of Soul to and the spoils.

At the Boodles May festival at Chester this four year old romped home in really wet conditions over course and distance making him tough to beat if putting in a similar run.

His latest run was on good ground but getting back to soft/heavy conditions can see him flourish and he looks the best of all three of the Koukash horses in the race.
