Today we are looking back at the 2019 renewal of the Grade Two International Hurdle at the Cheltenham festival with Call Me Lord for Nicky Henderson landing the spoils.
The Simon Munir & Isaac Souede trained animal was a bright exploit from France when first coming over to the UK, winning on debut at Sandown and then again two start later.
Aimed at Champion Hurdles throughout his career he was never able to cut the mustard at the top level, but in 2019 managed to land the Grade Two International Hurdle and it was his biggest success to date.
He has not been seen winning since that run, trying his hand both over hurdles and fences and falling short on many occasion.
However, we are looking back today on a superb renewal of the feature race of the weekend, with plenty of smart horses in behind Call Me Lord on the afternoon in question.
