Cheltenham offer the best card of the week on Saturday and we have looked back at one of the feature races on the card from last year, that saw a live contender for the Gold Cup.
Santini for Nicky Henderson went into the Grade Two Cotswald Chase looking to strengthen his credentials for the Gold CupMarch and he did just that.
In a small fielded event, him and Bristol De Mai went out to battle it out up to the line with the stamina of Santini lasting better and seeing him pull away in the final stages.
After this success he did head into the Gold Cup, being one of the big British chances for the race and he managed to nearly get up close home, having to settle for second.
Santini has not been the same horse this season with lesser performances in the Many Clouds Chase and King George and it is unknown whether he will head to Prestbury Park on Saturday to defend his title in this event.
