GROUP THREE PINNACLE STAKES GUIDE 2022

Unable to show anything of real promise as a 2 year old, Sea La Rosa improved dramatically as a 3 year old and easily won a maiden over a mile and a half.

Surprisingly beaten on her next outing over 12 furlongs, she dropped back in trip and continued her progression. A string of handicap wins and close 2nd places saw her rise to a rating of 93 before running a good 3rd in a group 3 at Newmarket last September.

She rounded out last season with a listed win over 13 furlongs at Linfield with a devastating display on the all-weather. If fully tuned up and in the same form she could have a great chance here.

Unable to score a win in her first four runs as a 3 year old, Climate was well beaten in maidens and group company, despite a promising debut.

She finally got off the mark at Navan over a mile and shaped with much more promise when finishing 4th in a group 3 over 10 furlongs. She ran to a similar level at Newmarket on her last outing of the season, outrunning a 40/1 price tag to be 5th.

She shaped well enough on seasonal comeback at group 2 level. Coming home a narrowly beaten 4th in what was certainly a career best. She’s making the trip over from Ireland and this longer trip might just unlock some improvement.

Despite a slightly disappointing debut, Noon Star bounced right back with a devastating maiden win at Nottingham over 8.5 furlongs.

She continued her progression with an easy win over 10 furlongs as a 3 year old before coming 2nd in the Musidora Stakes to Oaks Heroine Snowfall.

She failed to build upon that however and was a well beaten favourite of the Ribblesdale at Ascot, seemingly not quite staying 12 furlongs.

She returned to action this year with another win at Nottingham too narrowly take the Nottinghamshire Oaks from Technique by a head. However, she looked well outclassed in group 2 company at York last time out. Moving up in trip will hopefully suit her now she’s older.

Roger Varian’s Lady Hayes showed some real promise as a 2 year old but that now looks to have been down to her precocious nature.

Winning her first two outings easily she’s failed to record another win since. Tried at group and listed level, she has run well in deep contests but has failed to get her head in front.

Her seasonal return nearly saw her back to winning ways at Goodwood but she was beaten a neck by Bartzella in a listed race last month. She runs with a good level of consistency so isn’t one to rule out.

Only seen four times on a racecourse, Darlectable You only ran once as a 2 year old right at the end of the season to be a decent 2nd.

Her 3 year old campaign was cut short and she only made two appearances. Being beaten in maiden company when odds on favourite and showing very little in the Cheshire Oaks.

Her comeback run this season however saw her get off the mark over 10 furlongs. Winning a handicap off a lowly mark of 80, she’s making a huge step up in class here and needs to show what she’s capable of.

It took Nell Quickly a couple of attempts to get the hang of racing. She was only seen once at 2 and was well beaten.

She fared much better as a 3 year old and broke her maiden on her third career start before taking to handicaps well over 10 and 12 furlongs. Recording two decent victories.

Her handicap mark climbed to 89 off the back of this but she easily defied that at Newmarket in October to score emphatically. She hasn’t been seen since but was improving well at the end of last season and looks well worth her place at this level.

A debut win as a 2 year old was Invite’s only outing as a juvenile. She struggled as she progressed into handicaps at 3 until a demolition job on soft ground off a mark of 80. She failed to back that up immediately however.

Further success came when leaving Marco Botti and joining Andrew Balding where she managed to score at listed level.

Unable to make a mark at group level since, she’s got a lot to prove here and it’s hard to have much confidence in her.

Viola has spent the majority of her career on the all weather and didn’t manage to gain success until scoring in a handicap over 12 furlongs off a mark of 74.

She didn’t win again for almost a year, until scoring another low level handicap event off 79. She did manage to get the better of Sea La Rosa at Doncaster last summer when giving away almost a stone to that rival.

She saw that form reversed however, and was beaten twice by Sea La Rosa in a handicap and then in the listed race at Lingfield.

Her last win came at Southwell in a smart handicap performance off a mark of 90.

She seems best on the all weather and needs to prove she’s of this quality and can produce her best on turf.

A lightly raced 5 year old for Henry Candy. She was unable to win as a 3 year old but got off the mark at 4 in a low level handicap event.

Last season saw her mainly running over 12 furlongs in low grade handicaps where she tasted some success. A good win at Goodwood off a mark of 80 saw her try her hand at group 3 level at the end of the season but she was well beaten.

She needs to improve dramatically to get involved on seasonal comeback.

This 5 year old has only had 8 outings for David Simcock. Unable to score as a 2 year old, it also took Folk Dance three attempts to get off the mark as a 3 year old. Finally scoring in a low level handicap off of a mark of 77.

Moving up in trip unlocked some more improvement and she bolted up over a mile and half to easily defy a mark of 83.

Making her return at listed level saw her found out for quality. As the field got racing she looked outpaced and came home last of 7 at Goodwood.She needs serious improvement to have a say here.
