Coral Distaff Guide

1. Main Edition

T - Mark Johnston

J - Ryan Moore

Winner of the 2018 Albany Stakes at Royal Ascot, and turns up every now and then with a decent win.

Mastered the drop in grade in the German 1000 Guineas in Dusseldorf, but could not use that to full effect in the Coronation Stakes at Royal Ascot.

This is definitely much easier, and trainer is absolutely flying.

2. Al Hayette

T - Ismail Mohammed

J - Kerrin McEvoy

First start back in Britain for trainer Ismail Mohammed since September 2018 when finishing second at Newcastle on the all-weather.

Has been busy in Meydan every since then with seven appearances over trips varying from seven furlongs to a mile-and-a-quarter.

He won a couple of nice races in Dubai, but probably best watched now back in Britain.

3. Beyond Reason

T - Charlie Appleby

J - James Doyle

Returning after a long lay-off, Beyond Reason will be ready to kick on with her three-year-old season.

Last seen finishing last but one behind Iridessa in the Fillies Mile ended a decent campaign, and was just outclassed towards the end.

Best form came at Deauville, so will need to show a stiff track also suits but a top contender.

4. Desirious

T - Ralph Beckett

J - Harry Bentley

This daughter of Kingman carries a useful profile from her achievements to date.

She was sent off the 11/2 favourite in the Sandringham Handicap at Royal Ascot a fortnight ago, of which she came home in seventh.

Disappointing by her standards, having won at Goodwood and Kempton impressively on two starts prior.

Should be fit and ready to fire again.

5. Encapsulation

T - Andrew Balding

J - Jim Crowley

Just three career starts, all coming in the past three months.

Made her debut at Leopardstown for Noel Meade before removing her maiden tag at Clonmel on her next start.

The daughter of Zoffany then finished an excellent second to Pink Dogwood - who to her credit ran a cracker in the Oaks.

First start for trainer Andrew Balding, and will be coming out of stall one.

6. Hidden Message

T - William Haggas

J - Oisin Murphy

Oisin Murphy takes the ride on the daughter of Scat Daddy, who is seeking a return to form after dropping into the deep end in France.

Not too far off Obligate in the Group Two Prix de Sandringham over a mile, her run inspires a step-up in trip in time, but connections give it another go over eight furlongs.

Should make the cut here if knuckling down to her task earlier, and each-way claims a certainty.

7. Modern Millie

T - Mick Channon

J - Andrea Atzeni

Finished halfway down the field in the Sandringham last time out.

A fair result given her credentials, as she is yet to win on four starts since her debut triumph at Leicester back in October.

Big price and plenty of ground to make up.

8. Muchly

T - John Gosden

J - Frankie Dettori

Relished a Frankie masterclass when winning at Ascot in a Conditions Race two starts back, but was not seen to her best when fourth in Listed company at Goodwood under Robert Havlin.

The form of the Berkshire race has been boosted since as the Italian gets back in the saddle.

It goes without saying Dettori - with Enable coming up later on in the card, is a man in sensational form, and anything he rides has a chance.
