A trainer on Thursday is looking to have a winner up in Durham, sending just one runner on the day, which sees the handler make a 398 mile round trip.
When we see trainers coming such a long way to just run the one horse, we like to highlight it, as we believe they would not be coming all that way if it did not have a real chance.
The trainer in question is Ian Williams, represented by Chosen Shant at Sedgefield.
Williams is in decent form of late, boasting a 15% strike rate and outperforming his expected wins across the last 2 weeks; he's 17% when teaming up with Charlie Todd in the saddle.
Chosen Shant is 0-9 over hurdles, however has signified his time is close the last twice at Worcester, both contests over 23f, finishing 3rd and then 2nd last time out after travelling strongly from the rear.
He's not quite finished off his races over that trip, so the drop back to 21f looks sure to suit.
Connections will be hopeful they have found the perfect race for him to get off the mark.
