Saturday Stateside - US NAP & DOUBLE - 09/01/21

Tampa Bay 18:42 - Irish Charmer 2/1 NAP

Irish Charmer takes a big drop in grade after some below par efforts and that may prove the key to her picking up a race.

The 4-y-o filly will be sharper after getting two appearances under her belt and she represents a yard with an excellent record at the course (25% the previous 12 months).

Connections have opted for top jockey Antonio Gallardo, who also excels around here, and they have been handed the plum draw.

Tampa Bay 20:46 - Mary’s France 3/1

Mary’s France was sold to the US following a second in the Listed event at La Teste De Buch (France) with the form of that race working out exceptionally well.

The winner was also sent stateside and she picked up a Grade 2 Fillies’ event on her first start for Chad Brown.

Mary’s France didn’t quite match that on her debut, finishing fifth in a $40k event, but she shaped with real promise fading late over the extended mile.

She now drops down into a $14k event on turf over the standard 1m. Daniel Centeno has been booked and she looks likely to go off shorter than 3/1.
