Lingfield All-Weather Championships Preview

13:30 - Gallipoli 5/1

The Compton Place gelding has been fairly busy over the past 12 months running 12 times since his third placed finish in this race last year. He's finished a close second in both of his two races leading up this race and has only been notched up 2lbs prior to those performances and his experience is going to prove crucial here against a relatively strong field.

14:00 - Spark Plug 14/1

The Brian Meehan trained gelding has been one of the more consistent types on the A/W in recent times with a victory and a place coming in his last two runs. He beat the impressive dual winner VERDANA BLUE at Kempton in December and then continued to progress with a close 2nd when running over 2m for the first time last time out. French raider AMADE is clearly the one to beat but if any horse is going to find a way it should be SPARK PLUG.

14:30 - Silvery Mist 16/1

For this years A/W Fillies & Mares Championships, we’ve gone international with the Fabrice Chappet trained SILVERY MIST. The French filly landed a hat-trick of victories last Autumn before an impressive second in the Miss Satamixa Listed Stakes at Deauville. After the French spoiled the English party with three victors here last year, all at nice E/W prices, it’d be foolish to write off this filly especially at a great E/W price of 16/1.

15:05 - Kachy 4/5

One of the most impressive sprinters on the circuit, he's made the 6f distance his own in recent times with four victories coming from his last five runs over the distance including a place in this race last season where he was only beaten by the impressive French horse CITY LIGHT who followed up that victory with a Group 3 win in France. With a nice draw in stall 8 and plenty of emphasis on speed at this track, it looks like it'll take something special to beat Kachy here.

15:40 - Deputise 11/2

Three victories and a place from his four career runs on the A/W, we’re really liking the look of the William Haggas trained DEPUTISE for this years 3yo A/W Championship. The trainer trained the winner of this race back in 2017 and both the previous two winners came into the race off the back of a winning spree and that’s exactly the form Deputise has for this year.

16:15 - Wissahickon 2/5

Eight victories from 10 career runs, this is a serious horse out of the highly respected yard of John Gosden. He landed the Group 3 Winter Derby Stakes here in February sprinting away to what ended up been a relatively simple victory ahead over three lengths ahead of stablemate COURT HOUSE, who he once again goes up against here. The small field of eight will suit him to a tee and the wide draw in stall 8 all but justifies the 2/5 odds handed out to him by the bookies

16:45 - Arcanada 10/1

With a near incredible record of three victories from four outings over C&D, the Tom Dascombe gelding is certainly a horse who loves Lingfield. No horse in this field has won more times than him over a mile and with him seemingly tuned up for a big performance here after a promising run at Wolves last month, he’s got a superb chance.
